9:35 Almost laughable that someone would dare to claim a mining company has
a moral responsibility to a community which they themselves must actuate.
That is what Governments are for, historically at least, and one
establishes their responsibilities to begin with, not after the fact. That
Australians wish to allow themselves to be exploited like the Roman
proletariat, and not hold their Governments accountable with foresight and
due dilligence of wisdom, echoes such a modern failure of philosophy
worldwide endemic one wonders if ever labour unions will once again make
themselves effectively felt as the balancing force in the triad of workers,
Government, and corporation.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiight, so prior to the boom lets say the base for where mining
was at was one, today it is running at about 20 times higher than that
base, now say the "next GFC" comes at hits those increases and pulls it
back 50% which is a helluva a lot, well guess what thats still above that
original base by a long way. Do your homework before you come on here a
spruik shit. Fancy doinga story on that mine, cost overuns in construction
had the most impact and that was before an ounce was dug out

HIGH SUPPLY AND LOW DEMAND.. WERE FUCKED.. AND THE WHOLE OF CHINA HAVE NO
DEMAND FOR PROPERTY BECAUSE THE MIDDLE CLASS HASNT DEVELOPED CORRECTLY YET

Property is not an investment it is a consumer good. The days of property

There are mutilple levels ... Sure , your comments are true, but I must
also add that these are "older posts" ... I always add the recording /
viewing date to my posts, for just this reason ... Back then everyone
thought that commodities would be the first to plummet under the "Global
Financial Cruch" ... How wrong they were... Good thing that we can all sit
back and laugh, as next we will get all the "Experts" telling us that they
said all along that "commodities would boom" ...

I understand that alot of you can confuse a boom as infinately profitable
for our fine country.. but we are at the end of the day a broke country, at
least under the current currency. NO CHINA WILL NOT SAVE US! as much as
they bought up our biggest resource for BUILDING, it isn't a fail safe.
They have a massive population yes but the majority do not have incomes to
support the lifestyle the ceo's and entrepeneurs built.

appreciate your point, but in bigger pic increasingly think bbc - therefore
uk - just flogs usa policy, their constant coverage of libya & syria says
it all, those rebels are motley external groups, clearly funded by saudi's
(swiss had to do internal investigation as grenades sold to saudi's kept
turning up) & usa for geopolotical strategic reasons. bbc blah.

I am an investor with a statistics background (Science degree with physics
and math). What you are describing is meaningless - its company in a
landscape of thousands. Doesnt reflect the big picture at all necessarily -
eg there's always a few companies doing well regardless of the bigger
picture.

Well, a company i know very well is the leading supplier of equipment to
the mining industry and there sales have risen 140% in 3 years, employment
numbers have doubled in the same time, profit has risen ten fold and the
order board is amazing but you just think what ever you want

Maybe it's because 'The Lucky Country' wants those who have the skills and
the bottle to go to remote areas and set up Shop... Be it Western Australia
or the Northern Territory The Industry stated that all too many many

@graham640 all breeds of engineers are in demand in Western Australia,
Perth really is booming. And there are many young Irish people there.

Erm well this was a year and a half ago and the mining boom sure as hell
isn't stopping. In fact the IMF just estimated that Australia will be the
most healthy economy in the world over the next two years....

The more I see of BBC World News the more I think it really quite bad - is
often quite inacurate in reportage & shamelssly pro American in foriegn
policy. Maybe it's just a reflection of the state of UK.
