Australia v West Indies: One-day cricket highlights
The Australian team continues to dominate against the West Indies in the fourth one-dayer at the Gabba.
I am not, only going by what I hear from hear. But the youth have been heavily influenced by Americanisms. This includes but isn't limited to gangster culture and general hobbies. Basketball and soccer are taking off. Cricket is antithesis to this. It's sad, their pace bowling nowadays is serviceable but I would like to see them be real contenders for the #1 Test team, the more competition, the healthier the sport will be.Really heartbreaking stuff: watch?v=KgTNnBNWlQ0
Are you from the West Indies? Why has cricket become less popular there? They were the best at one point in time but now they do not even play day-night matches
Not understanding where the confusion is coming from about the decision
from the match referee. Though when you make the correct decision people
still to argue illogically I guess.
Last Ball: S. Waugh and S. Warne run 2 and S. Waugh comes through for the
third.
S. Warne completes the second run and the throw comes in and the bowler
lifts the bails. (Decision: Not Out, as batsman is in his crease.) After
this has happened S. Warne sees or hears S. Waugh calling him through for a
third. Both batsman complete the third run just as the crowd enters the
middle. No one was at the stumps to take it out and hit the ball against,
to make S. Waugh out. (Decision: Not Out, ball was incorrectly hit against
stump for a run out to be acknowledged).
Obviously, if there had been no pitch invasion Waugh and Warne would have
never have made, or even tried to get, that third run and West Indies win a
thriller. But it is because of the invasion of the pitch that made the
third run possible and tie the match and keep the series level at 2-2.
+daniel aebi Waugh is already running for the third when the bails are taken off; so the match isn't over. In reality, it's a penalty to the home side because of lax crowd control; under normal circumstances the throw would have then gone to the strikers end and Warne would have been run out. But that was made impossible of course.
+RedKnight261295 Ball shall be deemed Dead when it is returned to the Keeper or Bowler. By taking the Bails off it is deem that Ball is Dead, thus due to fact Warne wasnt going for a run the Ball could only be deemed Dead. What the Match referee should of done and said is that due to Pitch Invasions WI will be Penalised 1 Run.
+RedKnight261295 I agree with all of this except saying they wouldn't have tried for the third run. Of course you try for an impossible third, there's no difference losing by 1 run with 3 wickets in hand vs losing by 1 run with 2 wickets in hand.
The bowler already removed the bails on the 2nd run while Warne was still
inside the crease, so there is no question of the 3rd run and hence this
shouldn't have been declared a Tie. Unfair decision in favor of Aus.
Fantastic last over by Arthurton!
If the bails are removed still you can take runs. The fielder have to pull all the 3 wickets to get batsman out if bails are already taken off. So it's a fair Tie as Steve Waugh easily could have reached for 3rd run. Also due to darkness Steve was not able to judge the balls properly.
