+Aaron Wiley Maybe on the level of consciousness. I'd say the metaphor is easily applicable to objects though. A body breaks down and disperses back into the world upon death.
What an intellectually violent thing to say. Imply that others subjective is faulty not your own. To say that you don't think I understand Rupert spiras non duality because of a facetious and trite comment. That almost ironically more or less proves my point does it not? In this post modern age instead of saying the "fuck you thats not funny" people hide behind this posh, supercilious, and pretentcious rhetoric of pathological altruism. How sure in your own mind you must be to read a comment not even addressing his actual points and thus deduce what another person understands. quite a trite thing to say, "you don't agree therefore you don't understand" This is why I don't follow these people because even the most spiritual of people get these ego problems because deep down its a rigidity and a dogmatic cling to the the ideology or religion. But hey you could just be some troll, I leave this open for possibility. Look if this junk assuages some pain you've had in your life by all means, if it has helped you find meaning in this ontological universe by all means, if it helps you have reconciliation with existence by all means, it it helps you have solidarity with the big other by all means but keep it to yourself. It was a passing joke of which you took literally and proved the point. Rupert is a solipsistic idealist. There is much beauty in what he says even though its not applicable or even slightly realistic. its good poetry but at the end of the day it is but one of many possible paradigms to take of the world; that's the root of my comment. To have such loyalty to one mode of thought like this is destructive. The problem is no one could falsify his claims. there are self replicating and encompassing.
Interesting metaphor. Definitely a great one to explain reincarnation. The
questioner might need more time to see what Rupert is pointing at. No
amount of words can give us the experience that always is but is obscured
by the analytical belief driven mind. Thank you Rupert.
+Justin Tweed 'No amount of words can give us the experience that always is but is obscured by the analytical belief driven mind.' Straight to the point! Thank you!
+Marijke Van Vliet it all comes back to philosophy lolYou might ask how I, a philosopher could speak to issues treated by scientists. The best way to answer this is with another question. Are we engaging in science or philosophy here? When you study the interaction of two physical bodies, for instance, two subatomic particles, you are engaged in science. When you ask how it is thatthose subatomic particles - or anything physical - could exist and why, you are engaged in philosophy. When you draw philosophical conclusions from scientific data, then you are thinking as aphilosopher.Antony Flew

You are a rebel, i like you
+azgarogly Sometimes it depends on the way you express your opinion.Although sometimes the reactions of many that react to the opinion isn't entirely the fault of the person expressing the opinion.
+azgarogly But it does have a story......... just not that great(which is understandable sort of as it wasn't their main focus) If you like films where stories are the main focus then you are looking at the wrong movie in the most direct angle.
+Adam Stewart Of course. But good trolling is based on a truth.I really do dislike stuff like that, where a consistence of the story is offered to "awesomeness". The story must be reliable. Else it's a trash.
+Adam Stewart What? Spelt? Aliens? Oxygen too fresh? Disaster? You are making no sense.Googled "Kaiju". OMG. Bullshit at it's essence.Gown Ups 2? 5.4 on IMDB. Starring Adam Sandler and Kevin James. I don't thinhk I would waste time on that.
+azgarogly Does an idiot like you really need it spelt out for you?!!!!Alright the aliens that created the kaiju's wanted to take planet earth at time of the dinosaurs(didn't say which time period) but the oxygen was too fresh and they had to retreat. Then humans came along, caused pollution lowering the air quality and the aliens were able to release their kaiju's onto earth.Basically pollution leads to disaster is the movies message and in this movies case the kaiju's are the representations of the disasters. Now do you need it spelt for you again or maybe you should just go back to watching Grown Ups 2?!!
+azgarogly go fuck your mom fucking idiot, its a fucking movie not a fucking documentary, you fucking cunt, its an action movie. People like you are just plain retarded, and considering you are "smart" you should fucking know its a fucking MOVIE you fucking asshole. Go kill your self.btw this is the most hatefull comment i've ever written.
+MasteroChieftan What kind of stupid idiot would like movie loaded with bullshit that high?Giant monsters that would be crushed by mere own weight.Fighter airplanes engaging in a melee combat.Absolutely idiotic giant humanlike robots using model ship as a club?190 million dollars spent on this crap? OMG.
