Yeah it still works, but apparently the Manaphy event is a one time deal per cartridge so if the copy you buy has already claimed the mystery egg it won't work. I got lucky I didn't know that until after

The poketransporter thingy doesn't let you transfer eggs, so I'd be unable to transfer Manaphy to the newer generations without hatching it first..
