thanks... i never use layer before because not really understand how to use
it.. now thanks to you... i can finish drawing even faster n less confius...
Jeremy,Thanks again. Would it be too much for me to ask about fixing
during a project as opposed to setting at the beginning? I have just been
changing annotation and styles for text, dimensions and Mleaders at the
request of a client. This resulted in a crash. I lost some work.
Best,Tommy
+tommy morphis It is not something that is easy to explain in a short youtube comment. Set up the styles and move the entities over to the styles using the properties palette. Attach the required annotation scales. But there are a lot of quirks about the process. If crashing is an on-going issue, make sure you purge, audit, and don't attach any unnecessary scales to any annotative objects. If still crashing, start with a fresh file.
Thanks for responding. My question is in regards to operating procedures for
making line types, text, dimensions, Mleaders annotative in AutoCAD 2015.Is
there a procedure? Must the annotative options be selected prior to
beginning the dwg or may they be selected in the middle of a project. Is
there a best order for selection. Thanks for your good work.
+tommy morphis Sorry - for some reason your comments were waiting for approval, which is unusual. Setting annotative settings is much quicker ahead of time. Which is why a good template file goes a LONG ways to making drawings easier. You can always fix later but it will be more painful.
A great, and benifical, tutorial, thanks a load.
is there an order of operation for setting lines, text, dimensions and
Mleader to annotative?
Only when beginning a project? At any time during a project?
+tommy morphis It is certainly easiest at the beginning, although possible to fix later. It will just be more difficult then. I would always set the text style first because it is used in the other styles (mleaders and dims).
