@dva511 Yes it gets worse! lol .... I also update my FS waypoint database as well. There are many ways of getting a real world flightplan but in the end if you wish to use FS ATC you have to put it into the FS Flightplanner. FSBuild will convert flightplans for the LevleD 767 for example. Flightaware is a good place to get real world flightplans...you just need to convert them.

@RK1Hatty When FS ATC says expect vectors to runway such and such do not accept it... select an approach. (An ILS, RNAV, VOR, NDB etc etc) If there is a transition for the approach you will be offered that (perhaps a choice of transitions) as well. The transition may not be available as the FS9 database is well out of date so I write the STARs (transitions) myself using ADE.

@dva511 Tricky to answer your question. First get the approach charts for your dep/dest airports.... write a FSflightplan which includes the SID/STAR's for your flight (use real weather then check your weather for correct charts). Now the FS9 database is quite old now so it may not have the correct STAR (transition) so best to try a major airport first.

@dva511 I don't use FSBuild but if I recall it may well be your best bet because it will will write the FSFlightplan without the need for the actual waypoints to be in the FSdatabase. (I think I am correct but I may not be). There is a freeware site that has updates for the FS9 database....check here : hsors(dot)pagesperso-orange(dot)fr

Great to see you flying in Alaska, Ed....I've really been enjoying it lately, with some good FSG mesh and all the freeware airports available. Really looking forward to the upcoming PANC scenery as well. Hope to see you putting that B732 gravel kit to good use in future videos! :)

@edetroit Alright, but should I get an advance program for the flight plane or the default FS? also how do you write your plan when it only lets you chose the way points with your mouse after you chose the dep airport and arrival then IFR if you get what I mean?

@edetroit Red Dog in FS is completely wrong as far as FS9 is concerned. 1. The default airport code (PARD)is wrong....it should be PADG. 2; the Runways are now 03/21 not 02/20. I wrote the NDB approach myself using ADE....in fact I wrote the whole airport!

@edetroit Theres the part I get all my flight plans from Flightaware, and I often update all the things using AIRAC I guess I will have to get FSBuild. Anyways I'll search around google on how to convert it, thanks alot for the help anyways =] DVA511- Ed F.

@edetroit ......! I know you're not a man for requests, but how about that long overdue LGW-MCO in the Virgin 744? or maybe not, maybe a more of a 'holiday' flight to somewhere like Faro, or Malaga in a 757 from Thomas Cook or thomson?

@emiratesbiggestfan This panel is not an edit...... it is a custom build. If you want to learn about gauge design head to the aircraft and panel design forum at avsim. Make sure you have a few years to spare! lol

@edetroit I prefer Boeings to Airbusses, thats all! How about a BA 734 from LGW to PFO (Pafos, Cyprus). Flight no : BA2868, dep LGW at 08:35, arr PFO at 15:15. this is a real flight departing tomorrow (Fri 10th)

@thehazzer09 I am now adding this answer to my video description notes as it gets asked so often. : It is a post production edit of the FS Capt voice...replaced by my own spoken through a walkie talkie.

@gelutze Hey! You can use the freeware Tinmouse B732. Its a little different from Ed's panel, but its very good! You can find it on AVSIM forums.

Ed, could you point me towards any documentation on the FMC as I am looking to code it but can't get anything more than a few crummy pictures?
