Q. Should you select different speaker wire gauge depending on the application and distance from the amplifier to the speakers? A. Yes you should, since it will ...
Low resistance is what matters for speaker level audio. Capacitance doesn't
matter much since the output impedance is very low. For audio inputs,
capacitance matters a lot and resistance doesn't much since you are dealing
with high impedance. Hope this helps. Get an Ohmmeter and go with the
lowest resistance for speaker wire. Also if you are crossing over power
cables, there will be noise, so cross the wires perpendicularly and don't
run them side by side.
@shaochiavang Sure, try it! Speaker wire is really not all that expensive
per foot and I know that the bass frequencies seem to carry better over
larger gauge wire. I suppose at the end of the day it's still just an
electrical connection but you have to choose the wire that will best send
those electrons from one device to another...EXPERIMENT! Only you know what
sounds good to you.
um thay say smaller fans work great but i like one big fans i might ave to
say a bunch of small fans whould cool better but just to say if you whant
to move alota air and keep it silent use a 120 any thing lower might get a
bit louder because it needs to spin faster kuz area of the blades on a
smaller fan is not so big so it has to spin faster to get that air flow.

I thinking about running 8 gauge wire from my Rockford Fosgate AMP (320
watts rms @ 4 ohms ) (500 watts rms @ 2 ohms) to my //////\LPINE type R12.
If the 320 watts @ 4 ohms isn't enough for me, i'm gonna run it down to 2
ohms. What do you think of that setup? The Sub is rated at 500 watts rms
and 1,500 watt peak (not 100% sure on the peak)
I use 16 g for my surrounds (polkaudio) which are ran about 28ft through
the wall. they sound just the same as when I ran 12 g right through the
room. I use 12g on my mains because they draw lots more juice with 12 inch
Cerwin Vega Re 30 series.
DON'T LISTEN TO THIS MAN! Even if your distance is not long from the
receiver to the speakers you will STILL hear a difference in sound quality
by using a larger gauge speaker wire! Even if your setup is crummy!!
also remember he is not talking about physical distance to the speaker,
rather how long the length of cord needs to be after you have run it up and
down your wall, under the bed or sofa and all that.
definately not. if anything, its better. its even stated in this video. a
thicker wire has less resistance. your amp doesnt have to work as hard to
produce the same signal.
I hate it how on most pc cases for the front audio plugs they have such
thin wires going to it. It reduces the quality too much, so you just have
to plug it in the back
Hi,am i ruining my receiver amp? i have 8 awg speaker wires. Hsuresearch
says, they recommend at lease 16 awg for runs under 10 ft. and the front
stage is under 10 ft.
hi . i have a questions.. my receiver has 140 wt/ch and is 7.1 system what
kind of wire i shot use for front , back(loudspeakers) centre,??????please
help me
I have a 400w rms amplifier running at 200w rms @ 4 ohm and will need about
19ft of wires for my car...what size wire do I need?
Knu Konceptz 10 Gauge Speaker Wire Review
This is an informal review of the Knu Konceptz 10 Gauge speaker wire. This wire is very high quality, very flexible, and well worth the money. And it is also 100% ...
+Laviec Ellis you can get banana plugs that accept 10 gauge wire from Amazon.com and other audio websites. This wire is a bit over-sized but I'm sure it will fit with a little trimming.
If you haven't already you should ground off the paint to bare metal for a
better connection, even the places that already had terminals will benefit
from it since it's an old car. Also you didn't just use the heat shrink the
hold the wire to the terminals did you?
- Hey man, judging from the headunit performance, it has not missed a beat,
So that being said, it's a pretty amazing headunit :) I love it.. its
amazing :) so yeah i would recommend it man :) Its allgood! :D thank you
for the comment man. hope i could help :D
That's good but to get the best connection you need a flame torch and
soldier. You melt the soldier inside the connector then put the wire in the
connector and let the soldier cool. It's the most reliable way to do it.
- That's good man :D ill be honest.. i sparked a few lights when i was
installing this wire haha, oh well.. at least we all know the battery has
some power in it :P Goodluck with the big 3 man! :D
Hey dude just a Q.. Im about to buy a pioneer headunit you had an unboxing
of.. The PIONEER MVH1450UB. Can you confirm that headunits allgood? Cheers
man
My Caprice on 26" Forgiatos, 2014 UPDATE Pt.1; Redoing Speaker Wiring, New Sub Box - HD
Here goes a LENGTHY video! Wasn't expected it to be this long of a video haha. But, I haven't drove my Caprice in over 2-3 months... My amp had went out, and ...
Wow only if you knew how many thing is saw that was wrong in this video.
Please go to a real car audio shop. First that sub box is wrong for those
subs have you ever heard of cubes, port area, tuning hertz? get a box pro
built and you're system will sound louder then you could of imagined. go
over to steve meade forums learn how to properly wire and build a box not
hating ive been doing systems for 10 years you have a basic idea that not
bad but someone that know what their doing will get better results to bad
you live far from me id help you out for free.
Aww man... Here we go LOL. Look, I DO know audio stuff... I might not know as much details like you, but I KNOW what I got, and know it's wired correctly now. Also I know what it would take to really have it BOOMING.... But I already have a trunk setup that was built around the box (which was built for specifically B-Body's to keep trunk room). It is the wrong box for those powerful RF subwoofers. I could change it, but that's more $$ than I want to spend right now. And the trunk looks good as is, and I'm happy with how loud my system gets. But appreciate on helping out if I needed it..
Nope a ported box need to made and tuned to a certain hertz it won't work just making a hole as a port also dividers aren't needed this type of sub box is called shared chamber look it up he just didn't build it proper.
