+Franco Fernando What I don't like is that she is attacking his credentials. He is trying to discuss his view of the science (right or wrong); she is having a pop at him. She doesn't raise any scientific points; she is only taking up the time of the people who came to see him talk. If you disagree with a scientific talk, you should raise scientific points, not start accusing the speaker of being corrupted by his sources of finance. Otherwise I think you should wonder to yourself "is it possible that I don't know what I'm talking about".

+Franco Fernando I'm more objecting to him being attacked than anything. I don't think this is a good way to treat people, unless perhaps they are totally bogus. Which he doesn't seem to be. Where does he claim to be a Harvard astrophysicist? Wikipedia seems to be saying that he is an astrophysicist and does work at the Harvard-Smithsonian centre of Astrophysics.

Oh you mean the fact that he claims to be a Harvard astrophysicist but he is neither been employed by Harvard, nor is he really an astrophysicist? His Doctorate is in aerospace engineering; while somewhat related, does not make him an astrophysicistLet's assume he is an astrophysicist....how does that give him credibility to provide an opinion on Climate Science? His papers try to correlate the sun with global warming, and while the Sun is in an astrophysicist's realm, there are many factors that influence climate and global warming

+iorr98 What you are consigning your children and grandchildren to is a world that can be run by hijacking science and the media.  In case you haven't noticed, the knives are now being sharpened for methane, the next evil gas, in the same way CO2 was being prepped to take over from CFC's when it was the issue.Methane is not only contributing to GW, we are being told, it also causes ozone depletion. Ozone depletion? We did all we were asked to do to reduce CFC emissions, yet ozone is continuing to be depleted and the SH "hole" in the ozone layer continues to increase in size.The AGW threat is built on deception and misrepresentation, particularly in the print media. Have you noticed how so many newspaper articles on AGW are accompanied by photographs of cooling towers taken at sunset? Sunset vistas have lots of reds and yellows, the warm colours, and cooling towers produce a lots of visible water vapour, which when silhouetted against a setting sun appear dark, menacing and somehow polluting. Water vapour is not CO2 and CO2 itself is an invisible gas. Then we are given the "facts" with as much emotive embellishment as can be mustered. The amount of extra energy being trapped by human-caused  CO2 emissions is equivalent to the energy yield of 400,000 Hiroshima bombs per day. Poor Hiroshima. This claim, by the way,  translates to 0.4% of daily solar irradiation, which doesn't seem anywhere near as menacing and is almost certainly exaggerated to begin with. Notice also how AGW only threatens furry. cuddly, cute animals while it causes the proliferation of the slimy, ugly, detestable creatures that will be knocking on your door soon.          If you care about your children then give them truth and a tolerance for freedom of expression.

He is not a son-of-a-bitch. He is not a criminal. Your case for his losing his degree is thus rejected. Do you have something to say about the science of AGW?
