My HKS sounded exactly the same ...boring , the flutter is fun sounding especially the deep and slower one , would adjusting the screw on rear change the sound?

Yes but it's not just new.. it changes something for the noise.. so I was wondering if it was bad for the turbo or something ..

Good. Blow off valves like all mechanical parts eventually wear out. So a new one will only be an improvement. As for performance I wouldn't know, I'm assuming it would be a slight improvement

+Arthur Sperotto A blow off valve makes the "pssss" sound because it is releasing excess air built up in they system when the throttle is let off.The "ststustu" sound is actually air pushing back against the turbos compressor wheel which is called compressor surge which is debated whether it shortens the life of the turbo. The stustustu sound is actually not very good for a turbo'd car because it effectively slowly down the turbo.Long story short stustututu sound = no blow off valve air pushing against turbo in opposite directionpsssss sound is the blow off valve

Can you MCM dudes give your thoughts on installing a BOV on an auto/tiptronic 2002 twin turbo Subaru B4? I understand the "whoosh" sound won't be heard when shifting because it's an auto but when I release the gas pedal will it make any noise? Is it worth the time? Could you guys try it? Yeah, I know it's an auto but it's my first car, lol. Thanks

It will make noise when you let off the throttle as the intake shuts and forces pressure into the BOV

+Nima2013 they are u very different bov sounds. .. the forge one is allso very easy to install :p hks is a pain to get the c clamp on to secure bov to adapter. ..But yeah think about it and buy what one u lioe the best :p

+Jesus S The Kompact will be recirculating only, where the dual port will have the option to run fully recirculating, 50/50, or atmospheric. Hope this helps!Thanks,Rick

I have this on my 2014 evo x and I love the sound but it flutters way too much at low boost. I have tried turning the cap to it's loosest setting and it doesn't make a difference. Any help?

The vacuum line is good I just think is a cheap brand. It got completely stuck shut today and was bone dry so I had to buy their lube. It has only been about 6 months. They aren't kidding about cleaning it twice a year damn

+Skyline Guy check your vacuum source. The vacuum line helps pull/suck the piston in the BOV open when the enginegoes into a vacuum situation (like at a gearchange) if this line is disconnected or has a split the pitson is being actuated by the reverberation in the intercooler pipes, and the spike (or bouncing back and forth of the air charge) is the noise you are hearing

+rallysportdirect a fully recirculated BPV will not effect emissions but atmo venting any of the charge air will cause a small richening effect onAFRs at gearchanges and throttle lets offs. Whther they are big enough to have a measurable effect probably depends on what state you live in. In Australia we are hammered for the excessive noise.

+Tony Mora The valve it self does not have a CARB EO number, however I do not believe a blow off valve would need the CARB exemption as it does not directly effect the emissions of the vehicle. But please don't quote me on that :) Thanks,Rick

Buy a T piece, buy a HKS BOV, look on outlawjapclub website and all the info is on there. TBH, you shouldnt need it on a TTE kit, but since my kit is 'homemade' it doesnt have the bypass valve, therefore needs it to stop pressure build up and pipes blowing off

Yes 1G-FE, No not a TTE charger, Merx SLK230 Charger, Custom Cradle, Custom piping, ebay intercooler etc - Similar to the TTE kit, but uses nothing from the TTE kit
