Two lovers and a mechanic rob a grocery store and flee the police with hopes of making the professional racing circuit in Dirty Mary Crazy Larry starring Peter ...
+still2fast Good observation! I believe they used 3 of those Dodge cars. One was crashed in the the crash scene with the farmer, another with the train, and the last car that survived the filming was sold to a film crew member who wrecked the last one in '78.
mods were done to the valve body and a stall converter.....lotsa taxicabs had 727 and the slant-6........and no it was not stock......just a motor out of a rolled cuda transplanted into a duster.....I had money then.......and knew how to drive.....wasn't much at wrench turning....R&R yes.....rebuild no......had money and fellow rodders who had body shops, tranny shops, and radiator/exhaust.....sure helps.....
17-19 mpg at 70-75 if you kept your foot out of it......6-pack car.....grew up driving it....then had a '72 duster with a transplanted sure-grip and a 340/6 pack motor out a rolled cuda....727tf modified to fit it by a tranny guy who dragged mopars.....still miss that car.....17-20 mpg if drove easy......and sideways w/tire smoke from lights.......would run low 12's all day.....if I could keep it hooked up....lotsa fun on the street....
+68Barracuda11s so you drive yours like they are driving and get that good....I don't know but im willing to bet the way they are driving they are not getting 12
Funny, I get about 12 in my 69 Charger with a 6 pack short block, 452s, HP manifolds, a 4640SA AVS, 2500 converter, and a 3.55 sure grip, and it dips in the 12s on a tire
At 0:54, Larry should have just pulled over and asked the cop why he was
being chased. Obviously, he wasn't the suspect, as the thieves were driving
a '69 Charger and he was driving a '68. ;)
+paktype Look at the car in the begging of the scene, it is a 68 and then look at the car at the end it is a 69. we're both right. looks like they had a least two cars. you would think they could get two of the same year in a movie that came out in 74
+paktype Wrong! Look at the side markers, in 68 they were round. This car has rectangular thus it is a 69. I know I've owned both in the late 60's and early 70's
+cliff lynch The '68-'69 Chargers have been my favorite cars since I was a kid and I'm now 50. I know a '68 when I see one. The straight grille across is a '68 and the split grille is a '69. Period, end of story.
+paktype sorry dude, the talights are not 68, it is a 69, no matter what you say, look at the ass end of a 68, then look at a 69, diffrent tailights. the charger in blade was a 68, i grew up driving mopar.

Death Race 2 - Clip: The Police Chase - Own it on Blu-ray & DVD 1/18
@ishiioutcasts The're EF and EL fairmonts not fairlanes... the front grills
on the fairlanes look different and the side windows have an extra quarter
window to allow the extra length of the fairlane, due to its longer
wheelbase. The rear lights on the fairlane also extend all the way across
the rear of the car, where as these cars don't...making them FAIRMONTS. =]
were these guys even trying? I mean, the cars switch make and model so many
times its not even funny. First they are Ford Fairlanes, then they switch
to Falcons, then they switch to Crown Victorias, then back to Fairlanes,
then finally Dodge Intrepids.
