a tree is a better friend,,,it will only crush you if wind or rain affect
it,,,a nar will crush you repeatedly and blame you for the being in his
way,,,my father was worse than anyone descibed here,,and even in death has
managed to cheat lie and steal and hurt his entire family possibly for
years to come ,by the will he left behind,,my advise is move away from them
and have no contact at all..try not to replace them with a clone,,,live
your life free and clear,,change your name..pray everyday
Sam, I was involved with a Narcissist in a very abusive "sexless marriage"
25 years. I found that even though I had 2 heart attacks and struggling
with CRPS/RSD she gave me an ultimatum to shape up by the summer or I'm
out! Within the first two weeks of kicking me out she already had 3
different penises in her. Sam she hasn't had a sex drive for the entire 25
year marriage (begged for intimacy on my wedding night) and she takes an
SSRI to be sure. She wants a property settlement of 75/25.
Sam love the dog analogy. I have recently experienced the "devaluation and
discarding" phase of the nar.1 day, I came home & broke down 1 of those
"full body" sobs.My dogsm sleeping in another room, came, rushing out,1 sat
on my chest, looking around as if standing guard. The other sat at my
feet. They sat there at least 1/2 hr until I got up It struck me that these
DOGS showed more compassion than my nar., who could not stand crying, would
degrade me, walk away, and say "wipe off your face".
I love the book comment, and your reply Sam! You are so honest and it is so
refreshing to hear someone not resort to denial! I have so many books that
I have not read, that I continually make a 'rule" that I cannot buy any
more until I read the ones I have. And I continually violate it! And now I
blame you ( :) kidding!) for contributing to my pathology, as now I must
buy your book! When I moved, one of the movers said: "gee lady, you sure
have lot of books!"
I am begging for your help in dealing with the results of an abusive
marriage. I have a disease called CRPS, Complex regional pain syndrome, and
a heart condition. I was mistreated by family members, she kept money away
from me and would not give explanations, I was constantly being threatened
and humiliated, didn't receive proper food or medical attention, was being
kept isolated from family, friends and caregivers.
@krstcmjns In the culture that I live in the psychopaths and narcissists
rise to the top with lies, slander, antagonism, and manipulation.
Everyone's psychological defense mechanisms are running full force: people
often identify with the abuser and utilize reaction formation in order to
fit into the psychopathic culture. And very few people or groups confront
the narcissism with logic and activism.
13:40 to the end is an extremely important point. If you miss this point,
you miss the whole message he conveys about narcissists in general. It's a
crucial point, and it links narcissists to women, Jews and the English (and
to a lesser extent also, their cruder American offshoots).
Self-maximisation when optimisation offers greater long-term benefits to
them.
I wonder if you could shed some light on my problem of being disabled and
abused by a Narcissist caregiver/wife. Sam she has even had me put in jail
for completely bogus reasons. We live in a small rural town and everyone
knows everything. Most know she is a cluster "B" now because she went out
of control in front of the whole town.
Apologies to the gentleman from the ASI who introduced Dr Brook, I was concerned that my camera might not have the stamina for the whole talk so I didn't ...
Vital difference: If Walmart sets prices that don't satisfy the needs of
customers, it loses all its customers. If it wants to pay prices for its
supplies that suppliers can't, or won't, accept, then Walmart loses its
suppliers. If it pays wages (or fares for trucking etc. etc.) that its
employees can't or won't accept, it loses all its employees. In other
words, Walmart is in the market. This is sharply different from a govt. Try
to stop doing business with the DMV and see where it gets you.
@StudentOfObjectivism I completely get your point! If you do make one,
there is only one point that is REALLY an issue - The grave by-products of
systems. --- I had a self declared communist as a philosophy teacher. He
would do "applauds" of sorts for communism to which I would respond:
Communism is a beautiful idea, however, it won't stay good for all for long
given the advantages certain people have within a social context to get
more which will break it - eventually.
I was a socialist until one day someone asked me 'by what right and under
what sovereignty do you claim my life for your moral cause', not being
religious and believing I was a rational person I couldn't answer that
question. It was a good many years before I read Rand's work but someone
confronting my lack of logical coherency shocked me into actually thinking
for myself. It was probably the single most important moment in my life and
I wish to thank him for it.
@ChasingCharles So... are you saying that the employment of minors should
always be forbidden? If so, you're being a rationalist - you are going from
'children can't always think rationally' to 'no child can decide
rationally'. Yes, there is a danger of children making bad decisions - but
in third world countries their alternatives are often just starvation on a
farm or child prostitution; in a developed country there is little
incentive to employ them anyway.
@MyContext Coercion - System By Products: Concern (Possibly Grave) The
rules constructed for an interaction of any sort are NOT capsules in time,
but have ripple effects for the future. Consider: If people cannot afford
to pay for school, that will create an irrational society over time, since,
without education people are more prone to accepting irrational ideas,
since, intuitions are often wrong about the nature of how things really
are...
He misconstrues the Austrian use of the word "rational". The Austrians
define it differently than the Objectivists: A man is rational if he is
employing means to achieve ends. Austrian economic analysis doesn't care
whether the means or end are appropriate. For example, a tribesman who
performs a dance to cause rain is acting rationally, but he is doing so
based on flawed knowledge.Austrians recognize that people often make poor
choices.
@MyContext All I'll say to that is that you should take a look at my video
on communism/socialism (on this channel). The short version: once you say
"communism is a noble ideal but..." you've already lost the argument. From
there, all you have on which to fall back is some pragmatic objection like
"men aren't good enough to practice it" (as though the case for freedom is
that men aren't good enough for slavery!)
@MyContext Voluntary Taxes: Rejected I agree with the position that people
are not utility maximizers. Based on this fact, the idea of voluntary taxes
and community sanctions become problematic pretty quickly. I also reject
NOT having public schools... Since, the capacities of individuals to make
rational decisions (self interest) is NOT a universal capability among
us...
@StudentOfObjectivism I am acknowledging that I must re-evaluate my
position and the linkages that I am realizing that I have made without due
review of the assumptions inherent in those linkages. Since, a proper
response demands a review of the linkages for the claim... My linkages seem
to be woefully incomplete in this subject area...
@MyContext I don't understand what this comment means. Why did you use a
question mark (let alone three). Yes, I think you do need to check your
premises. "Extrapolated notions are problematic - aren't they..." Is this
line meant to imply that I am having trouble with my own extrapolations? If
so, please expand.
23:00 Walmart works as a company because it has mastered central planning
and the centralization of local and dispersed knowledge from around the
world in the town of Bentonville, Arkansas, despite Hayek's arguments
against the possibility of doing that.
@MyContext This will most likely come across as evasive, but I'm going to
refrain from arguing with you in these comments. What you have said
requires either an essay or nothing; therefore I'm going to register that I
dosage and leave it at that.
In effect your argument is this: a private company has succeeded in running
an efficient operation, therefore we ought to destroy private enterprise
and replace it with central planning.... I grant you that that is an
innovative argument.
Overall, I have no issue with what has been presented, however, the
following are points of issue... 1) Voluntary Taxes: Rejected 2) Coercion -
Scope of Elimination: Concern 3) Coercion - System By-Products: Concern
You have obviously never read Hayek. You have also never understood the
distinction between *private planning* of the use of one's own assets and
*central planning* of the use of all assets in an economy.
@MyContext Coercion - Scope of Elimination: Concern There was a claim to
eliminate coercion - which I can't imagine could ever be the case. However,
reducing the pervasiveness of coercion is desirable...
I refer you to Mr. Humpty Dumpty. 'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said
in a rather scornful tone, 'it means just what I choose it to mean -
neither more nor less.'"
@StudentOfObjectivism Your framing has left me having to review what I am
claiming versus what I reject...??? Extrapolated notions are problematic -
aren't they...
I suppose there could be a 'grand fees day' where those who gave the most
could get their egos massaged.
How to deal with negative people
Learn to be a people person with international bestselling author Paul McGee! Learning how to better communicate and interact with others can really help to ...
What if it's your 43 year old roommate who listens to gangster rap, watches
gangster movies, and does drugs and think it's cool?
I'm peaceful, I meditate consistently, I'm all about peace. I stand up for
myself in this situation and it always effects me worse, because he is
irrational. Sociopathical behavior is displayed by this individual.
I don't care what he thinks about me, but I believe that the things he does
will bring me harm so I have to pay attention to it.
It's literally to the point where I hear him telling a story about how he
punched a dude in the face for a dumb reason, and how he wants to make more
money doing illegal activities, and I can't block it out, because he has to
be heard. He loves when people think negatively about him, and literally
sucks in ALL negativity, and naturally spreads it all around. What do you
do in that situation? I'll be out of this house in a couple weeks so
honestly everything WILL be okay, but how can I prepare for a better
change?
+Ralph Romero Same here, find a better place ASAP ! It happened to me a few times, I tried to be patient, to do like in the video (well that was years ago, before the video was published) I tried to listen to them, to support them, so that they become better... and it worked ! only problem was that once they suceeded, they just killed me in my back ! Don't even hang out with people when you feel something suspect that you can't define, even if they play nice, invite you and insist how cool is it !
It's usually some time before I get adjusted to a way of life. About a week. I know when I move out, I'm not going to automatically be happy no matter what happens, because I'll still need to recover from the life sucking power of my roommate. I don't give him the will to do it, and I don't care, but his lifestyle is.. Very negative and very destructive. That's what kills me. I'm more scared for my safety than destroyed by his negativity.
Back in high school, i knew a teacher aid who was negative with me.
Whenever i brought the subject of religion or history. And she would
angrily tell me to stop. And i was emotionally hurt. So i turned to
positive people like my mom, a catholic priest and members of a catholic
church. So with them around me, i felt more confident and filled with joy.
+Alan Bourbeau My opinion was Terrible being an negatives Or Cool guy But Being an Postive better Because you Can be a Perfessional or Something Mysterious.
My roommate constantly looks at and shares everything negative. He is a
retired 65 year old gay man. Not only is he negative, but, he's a
narcissist. He always has to be right even when he's negative. He always
wants to hold me back by trying to get me to get a "REALITY CHECK." I like
to remain positive and always look at the bright side. I challenged his
behavior today and it turned into an argument. He had to get his negativity
out, but, I couldn't speak, he wouldn't let me. How do I deal with him?
Should I move out? His negativity is now bleeding into my conversations
with people and holding me back from getting a job.
Good News!!! I moved out on September 17.........Ding, Dong, The Witch is DEAD.....We got into a verbal fight and I finally left!!!!!! Now my rent is $220 more per month, but, no more RULES!!!!
+schwul1956 I'm almost there with my roommate. Lol. He's a major ass. And the head of household is a 50 year old meat head. Bunch of hoodrats. But at the time, this seemed like a good idea, because I got kicked out of my parents and worked with the head of household. He wasn't popular at the time so he was cool. Because he needed me for rides to places. That's it. Long story short, I learned real quick don't follow through with what might seem perfect. Lol. I just needed away from my negative parents house, and was loving the freedom. Now I'm used to it, have a fiancée and a daughter that I need to focus on, but this person makes me dear for my freedom, I can't speak, and he calls me a fing gay slang term, just for reading. It offends me honestly, because he's shitting on me, plus I know he Is absolutely ignorant. I look to change people and make them better. That's my problem. He's stuck in his hood ways. I've praying for a miracle. Lol
+Mitchell GordonYou should find another place to live. Your roommate's negativity eventually will damage his health; if you don't get away from him, then his negativity eventually will damage your health as well.
I wish I could give you some good advice. However, I think you need to tell him that you can't take his negativism and it needs to change or you can't be roommates anymore. I feel sorry for you. Be strong! Hang in there! Wish you the best!
i think this guy is a bit of loner and has been treated unfairly his entire
life and is speaking for him self...as he looks very depressing.. and the
thing he said about the negetive blood group is completely irrelevant
....and dumb....negetive behaiviour has nothing to do with negetive blood
group really..this guy himself has a lot of negetive energy in him
People can be negative in life from serious situations. Other than calling
them names and bitching about them yourself, maybe helping them is the
right solution.
+Leah Crossley my roommate is that way. Always has to bring negativity. Everything about his life is negative, and whenever positivity is introduced he scurries away. I don't get it. Do they not one the side effects? He does. I preach about how it's killing him, and he doesn't budge. I try and try and in that time he has brought me. So it's time to move on. I'm only 21, so I'm moving in with my mother and stepdad to get a help with a new positive, prosperous life. Lol
You're right, Victor. Let me rephrase what I meant. There are people out there who are negative and want help, whereas there are the minority, I would like to believe, who do not. And I was slightly disappointed this video didn't include the ones who wish to change, but the ones who crave the attention of the negativity or are just plain miserable.
+N. Pike Everybody can wish, if fact we all do it. However, wishing is not wanting change. It is an illusive desire. Change comes about by looking at yourself in a constructive way. E.g.Some people have said, "you are offending me" even though they are 400lb because of the OVER HYPED PC culture. If you are FAT, you need to change (REAL MEDICAL SITUATIONS EXEMPT).
+Victor Vandablet I agree. let me clarify my position. I think almost anyone with a brain in the head would want to change into a millionaire. Hence who would wish against that said change?
+N. Pike You are wrong. Some people feed off your negativity. They need the constant arguing/negative energy, create problems to maintain their habitual habits.

I cried when they changed it. Ed2 just didn't get you pumped at the ending like this did, especially when it was dramatic. Are you able to choose the ed if you buy the dvd? # wishful thinking #ed1 is best
It may seem bad at first, but they definitely make it up (in my opinion, dont be taken back the the first episodes and stuff, if you think its like SAO or Log Horizon, its not, well not completely, its getting stuck in a game, but, i dont think the guy gets out considering well, SPOILER there is no more GUI when he gets stuck, and its only one guy (lol) and, well, hes SPOILER a really high level guy like kirito, and hides his power to the humans (and SPOILER he is not human anymore in the 'game' or if it is even a game anymore,)
+MrCilliman Oh, that's pretty short. I might go and watch it this weekend then. If I happen to get addicted to the ED song the same way I am with this one, and Magia, then I'll come back and thank you. :D
+MrCilliman I've got Overlord in my 'to watch' list. But I've got tons of psychological anime stacked up before I watch anything else. I'll probably not know how good the ED is until next year lol. (I prefer not to watch OPs or EDs on Youtube until AFTER I've heard it in the show).
+Alex gaffney Not sure if you found the song or not, but it was called 'Magia' not 'Magica', I spelt it wrong originally. I did write a comment saying so weeks ago, but it appears to have been deleted.
+Abel S Kennedy Just with the video, I interpreted it like a girl who died from illness (she seems to wear hospital cloth) and that her teddy bear was here for her until her last moments. Then, in the death, she loses her landmarks and her teddy bear saves her and frees her from her pain by taking a girl appearance. I know, it's a really fantastical way to see it, but it's just an interpretation. :)
I did not interpretate haha, just said what is in the Lyric + Video = a Talk between a Random Person with God.In resumeThe person is lose in the world (not in a lack of money or friends or family or stuff, in a lack of reasons about what is the World?and why happens all the things?whats the propouse of living 1 day or 105 years old if we lose all?does this awful world is the place we are meant to be?there is another better place after this world? finally the person left God, and lose the faith but says "I want to change my destiny" God says "I'll protect you not matter your sins, just love me" "Do you agree?" so then the person accept but Dies but just die in the actual world, God Resurrect she, in a better place Free of sins and Colorful.
+Abel S Kennedy Your comment made me realise something. When I watched this video, I felt there was very little reference to God. I saw the girl in black as her older self, who lets go of her younger innocent self after being exposed to the harsh world outside of her innocent childhood. I saw the video was about her mental growth, not about her acceptance of God.The differences between our interpretations of the video made me realise how much our views of the world affect how we interpret it. You're religious (presumably) and see that if people are lacking something in their life, it's their acceptance of God. I'm non-religious and I see that if people are lacking something in their life, it comes from within i.e I believe in the power of mental strength/growth.Just something I wanted to share :)
