Wikipedia stated that the two divers were from the PK. They received their medals not long after the sinking together with talk round that I presumed that they received their HCs for action during the sinking. On Facebook someone stated that they actually got the HC from a previous incident on the PK.

I also remember the Pall Mall girls dressed in little red mini outfits, handing out free condoms and cigarette's on the dancefloors of nightclubs in Holland where I grew up. The DJ would tell between the songs: "I don't care where you boys and girls are going to do it, but you can't do it here", re; the condoms, but smoking was okay. Those where the days.

Too true. Especially in Australia. When I gave up over 30 years ago, cigarettes were under a dollar for a pack of twenty. Now they're twenty dollars for a pack of 25. VERY expensive habit. Of course any smokers who can't afford it could always come over here to Indonesia and buy them for around $2.00 a pack. Or pretty much anywhere else in S.E. Asia for that matter. But at the end of the day, it's still a dying, stinky habit with nothing positive going for it whatsoever.

Sorry to hear about your fiend dying at such a young age, but as they say, tomorrow is promised to no one, so you've got to make the best of things as they are. But none of this changes the fact that smoking is bad for you. Very bad. If you're a smoker, best give it up while you can.And as far as smoking goes, Sean Connery, the original Bond ( James Bond ) doesn't smoke in real life. Absolutely nothing cool about it. Just on a final note, you may want to check out a video here on You Tube made about 30 years ago by a great actor named Yul Brynner. He has just a few months to live ( he was in his late 60's here ) and is dying of lung cancer.See what he has to say about smoking. He certainly doesn't call it cool. Especially if you like to have stinky breath, yellow teeth, shortness of breath, emphysema, lung/throat cancer, coughing up big slimy phlegm coated 'golf balls' each morning etc. And of course be a slave to niccotine addiction as well, of which less than 20% of people will ever be able to give up. +ELPaso1990TX There's definitely something said about that. When my grandfather lit up his pipe, and after two puffs, he was like a good old Pratt & Whitney engine, and once he got going, he would tell you stories like you wouldn't believe, all from early last century.

+ELPaso1990TX Nobody can stop you from smoking if you want to, but I'm interested as to why you think it makes you look cool? In the eyes of non-smokers, it doesn't look cool at all. We just think you've made a really bad decision and now are addicted, especially when you have to leave a conversation with your friends and go outside in a rainstorm just to smoke. It is the opposite of cool, it's essentially paying for chemical enslavement. On the other hand, perhaps in the eyes of fellow smokers they feel some kind of connection to you and automatically relate to you in some way. I used to smoke, and I used to enjoy smoking, but I never once thought I looked cool to others while I was doing it, sometimes I felt embarrassed because my friends didn't like the smell, didn't want to breathe in the smoke etc. I don't understand why you think it's cool.

Makes you cool. About 25 years less than non smokers.. ;-)
