Magic Sky Puddings... Ponsi Flight Training Loans..!
Oh Joy... Loans to train as a Commercial Pilot...; what could be wrong with that idea ?
@nafait1 Cool, thanks for the tip... I reckon it'll be funny to watch what
happens... The Airport was built by mistake... The Kingsgate Crystal Mine
produced a Truckload/ Month. To minimise Breakage, it was flown to AWA, in
Sydney. So, they asked the Yanks to build a Runway, & they built it for a
Fully Loaded Cargo Liberator, rather than a DC-3. Over a mile of sealed
Runway. The Council has never been able to afford to maintain it. So,
Council would LOVE to offload it. Subplot. Ciao !
@nafait1 G'day, thanks. Is that right ? I haven't seen their Video... I
read what the GI Examiner says about it... And I know there are still
Lawsuits going on with 2 previous Councils he tried to work the Deal with.
The Reddestone RFS Brigade Shed & 2 Trucks are on GI Aerodrome & my son is
Brigade Captain. Apparently all the Instructors & Staff will be joining up,
to be able to use the Trucks for Crashburns. I'm told, 450 Benders, & 150
Menders. It's a Fairy Story, I think. Ciao !
@CanadienAtheist G'day mate, thanks... Um, yeah. When I first heard of a
planned 600 Student Flying School at Glen Innes with the Developers
planning to buy the Airport (!) ; I guessed they must have a 10-Year
Contract to train an Asian or African National Air Farce, to justify the
Investment... But this is a Scam to stick the Taxpayers with the
Training-Costs of as many crops of unemployable Baby CPLs as possible. Oz
Uni's work on such a BorrowFee & Payback Schemes :( Ciao !
@nafait1 Um '65 (?) the new Terminal went up, beside the Aero Clubhouse. I
don't think they did much to the Runway... In '72 or '73, a C-130 flew a
Gemini Space Capsule out of GI because no other surrounding Town's runway
could cope... In '76, the SSC couldn't get funding to reseal it to the
Original Specs, so they patched 1/2 & Fenced off the other half ; then, DOT
funded the Reseal, but to DOT's "New" Specs, which job then failed. It was
a "Big Stink" at the time. Ciao !
@torqsht G'day, thanks. Um, well, it isn't quite that bad. It's "600
Students", & only 450 are to be Pilots, the rest are to be LAMEs. But,
still, the Jobs aren't there for the Graduates. So, no 2nd Course, the
School will then fold, leaving $2.6 million in State & Federal Grants to
update the Roads, Power, Sewage, Water, & Parking, for 800-odd people on a
500 Acre Block of Flat Land, surrounding 2 Runways. Housing Subdivision via
Backdoor, or what ? Ciao !
@RefriedBeanDip G'day Richard... Thanks mate. Um, yeah, the Universities
here all charge Up Front Fees, collecting the money by racking up a Debt
for the Students via the Higher Education Contribution Scheme, which also
chomps into their later income, if & when. So this is essentially similar
enough for a Uni-Educated beaurocrat to OK the scheme. Why the AAFT wants
to buy the Airport is a mystery, though. Scammers usually rent or lease.
Ciao !
@VB Ed G'day Ed... Yeah, that's about right, & the Big Airlines always hire
ex-military Jet Jockeys... Being a young Low Time CPL is a ticket to
Starvation, living out of a Suitcase, eating Baked Beans, desperately
trying to build hours. Doing it with Savings & keen ambition is tough
enough. Doing it on a $94,000 Debt would be soul destroying... Flying is a
Passtime, for people with spare cash. So I slowly learned. Ciao !
@OsofaOkingO G'day... Well Munchiekin, if you want to make movies of
matters which interest you, then go & do so ; in time, no doubt, you'll get
to sound much more like Tiny Tim, or Al Jolson, or Elton John, or whichever
one of those ancient & irelevant Crooners you're to trying to Copycat. Good
luck finding meaning in the emulation of forgotten Poop-Stars ;-) Ciao !
The Severn Shire rebuilt the sealed runway in the 1960's, and some idiot
decided to use Black Mud as a base, so they put in a half metre of mud
covered it with gravel and sealed it. The East West F-27's were just about
breaking through it, so they closed off 200 metres of the southern end and
they have been patching the rest ever since.
Hi, Yes however when you listen to their video for Glen Innes, which is
just an update for the one they produced for Gunnedah back in 2008, it says
600 student pilots. There is no way they will ever get 150 potential
aircraft engineers every year to come and train at Glen Innes.
To train 600 pilots a year would involve flying 400 hours per day, with one
takeoff or landing every minute of a 12 hour day, and that is impossible.
This flying school has been promoted on a big lie.
Stephani came to UB Law as a non-traditional student, and was heartened to find that law school education as rigorous as it is doesn't preclude a family life.
