Such a good dog letting you examine her paw like, my dog hates anyone
touching his paws , especially to clip the nails, wish i could find
something that would sedate him enough so i could clip his nails but the
vets would charge me £100 for it as they would have to anesthetize him to
do so, my health hasb't allowed me to do long pavement walks to keep them
filed.
+thanrose Thank you, very kind of you to share your suggestions, you see the problem is he will not allow you to grab his paws at all but it is getting a little better with me using desensitizing techniques and he doesn't get as anxious, he had trauma to his paws because after he was neutered the vet surgery din't make sure they kept an eye on him when he woke up, even though i told them he would get anxious so by the time they called me to get him he had de clawed himself on 4 nails whilst trying to get out of the cage so now he will try and bite your hand so you let go of his paws, what i've been doing lately is clipping one here or there while he sleeps so we'll get back to normal soon, also just to explain how they got long is because i became ill so his 1/2 hour walks on the pavement that has always kept them filed were cut down because of my health but i'm working hard to keep the essential walking done, Thank you for you help. Be well
+marta gil-vaz Marta, you can get a little battery operated nail file, like a small drill that you can try rather than clipping the nails. Just do a little every day. Also, if you have access to diphenhydramine AKA Benadryl in the US (for allergies, also given to children for the same), you can give your dog some of that, and it will make him sleepy. I don't like using things like that frivolously, but overly long nails are painful for your dog. Also there are videos on how to trim the nails on anxious dogs. Good luck.
The vets in England are completely stupid my dog my pittbull cross staff
had that on every paw and every nail and underneath and the vets charged me
1000 s and I was at the vets every month with the bottom of the paw sweaty
and sore aswell and after 3 yrs and his other skin problem which was lumps
coming up and hair falling out I could not do it anymore after 12000 pounds
and 6back on insurance so 6 thousand or so anyway they done bios and blood
tests and scrapes and found nothing. But when I was at the end I forgot to
flea my dog with flea drops and all of a sudden his skin started getting
better and I got cheaper food with less enrichment in and his feet got
better so I found out what it was after doing a test with puppy flea drops
his skin come up again but went down so I got a flea collar and the hair
and skin got better. Great)
The paws kept coming up with food that was very enriched and too much
moisture so I changed the diet to a cheap biscuits and put a tiny bit of
meat that is 80 percent moisture and his feet cleared up but the vets just
scratched there heads over in England they just want your money out of love
and it's hard to find a good one and America seems full of them especially
what you do is amazing. Thanks for your advice my dogs back legs need
chondro paw I asked you for a alternative and it helped but I have to try
chondro now but it helped his arthritis in the back knees for a while but I
got to try it for the magic root they claim helps. Trying to believe and
hang on to hope but his back legs are drunk and keep collapsing now and one
or the other leg will drag so his paws will bleed. Just prey chondro works
I've seen worse cases than my dog and they worked so?? THANKS FOR THE HELP

Dog Diseases: Prevention & Treatment : How to Express a Dog's Anal Glands
Expressing a dog's anal glands is the unpleasant but often necessary practice of squeezing each gland to expel their contents, which alleviates any pain and ...
Wow! I can't believe someone was dumb enough (read: a complete
douche-nozzle) to post a video of "Hot to express..." WITHOUT showing how
to express a dogs' anal glands. That would be like me, posting a video with
a title "How to change your oil" and then just talk about why you need to
do it and a general basic overview without a hands' on. Hey numb nuts, you
ignorant bastard, not all people can HEAR (deaf) what your saying. Purpose
of a video... SEE and HEAR. Way to go genius.
Thank you for your help! It worked like a charm on my two dogs. One had a
recent skin issue of over scratching and biting on one of his legs. They
both seem happier now! lol Who knew. Again, thank you for your easy and
simple directions to follow! Clearly, this is not one ot those things you
write home to Mom about, lol : )
HOORAR FOR A PROFFESIONAL. so many foolish ammaters on here doing the same
thing, whilst laughing exterically, and in turn scaring the already
frightened dog. If ur too immature to deal with the serious issue at hand
here, then go to the vets!!!! bravo to this video, finally a serious and
good explanation. thanku
How often should you have to do this?? We had someone do it with our dogs
and one of them smells fishy again :( Is there anything we can do to stop
this??
I'm sorry but there's a few crucial mistakes that were made here 1) AB
fibers mostly transmit touch sensation and have little to do with pain.
Pain sensations are sent up through Aδ (sharp pain) and C (dull pain)
fibers to the dorsal horn of the spinal cord, where the neuron ends. The
sensation passes to a second neuron, crosses the midline, and ascends up to
the brain where it is interpreted as pain 2) The narrator repeatedly
referred to Aδ as "A-gamma" when in reality it is "A-delta"
I did not understand this one. How come there is a dissociation between the
light reflex and the near reflex? As far as I know, both reflexes use the
pretectal area so both reflexes shouldnt work.

Chris - thank you very much for sharing this!
I had two burmese - the first one developed the condition 6 years ago and
eventually it got so bad I had to put him asleep.
The second one just developed it - I came home 2 days ago to find him with
bloody paws and mouth. The vet prescribed Gabapentin but it seems to make
him cat-atonic... :-) Does your cat need medication? Do you press hard? I
tried this morning with no results but I think it could work. (your cat is
beautiful!)
I think it's amazing to see this video. My burmese also was suffering of
FOPS, but it was in combination with bad dentist work. He survived and had
it never since. Did You consider to get an x-ray of Your cats teeth to see,
if there is something wrong? Clare Rusbridge has studied the phenomenia of
FOPS, maybe interesting for You.

What happened to your cat? I have 2 Burmese and tone of them has recently
developed horribly bad feline oral facial pain , had to be hospitalised for
2 weeks and now on 300 mg of gabepentin a day, which is only just keeping
it at bay! Was interested to hear how you're dealing and see if you have
any tips? Many thanks x
So basically I'm concentrating on the gum line, particularly around the top
prominent canines. Some people would call this flossing, or gingivitis. I
wash my fingers to massage the area between the teeth and gums, then use
his own whiskers to give it an extra gentle rub,
Thanks Chris for this video. My cat, Chloe has this disease, and is on two
medications to control the incessant pawing. It seems to be working, and
my hope is that she will be able to go off the medications, sometime in the
future.
