Apollo Artist Sessions Vol. II: Michael Romanowski w/ Lia Rose
This short video lets you see and hear engineer Michael Romanowski recording Lia Rose's "In Your Place" exclusively through the Apollo High-Resolution ...
It is disingenuous to start the video by saying that this had been "all
recorded through Apollo & UAD plugins exclusively" to then go on and say
"via 4-710 preamp" for certain tracks. I have an Apollo Twin Duo and am
more than satisfied but if you are going to record a session using plugins
exclusively then do so. Then we could hear what the Apollo can do
"exclusively".
+holmesway I own both and actually its not disingenuous, if you know what they mean. The 4-710d has a light pipe and bnc connection to the Apollo. The 4-710d audio is on the lightpipe and the bnc provides the clock from the Apollo. Then all of the audio comes down the firewire from the Apollo to the computer. So it is all recorded "through" the Apollo, and hearing that signal path is important for those of us that own both.
NAMM 2013 Apollo High-Resolution Interface Multi-Unit Demo w/ Fab Dupont
If you couldn't make it down to Anaheim for the 2013 Winter NAMM Show, then you definitely missed seeing and hearing Apollo interfaces operating in multi-unit ...
Hmm....stupid prick...got any links to your own presentations? Or would you care to share your own experiences with professional grade recording equipment and your philosophy on how to use it? I'm all eyes and (if you have any examples) ears.
The hardware sounded much sharper and clear than the software, any decent
engineer can hear the difference, the guitar was actually sounding
horrible, I know the quality of the product is amazing but the quality of
the presentation was mediocre.
You are saying that i am a shame? i do hear a difference, but aside from what you hear, i hear many uses for both sounds..... and i'm not an engineer but have 20+ years of recording under my belt. You judge to quickly those sounds and seems you can't see the full spectrum of possibilities.
+Nicolas Rivera Of course is my opinion, but if you follow the comments bellow you'll find similar opinions. Your opinion is that I am not an engineer but yes I am a producer and engineer from the oxford school of audio and have worked with multi grammy awards producers and engineers several times, but you don't need a "paper" to hear such difference, you just need a set of ears, If you can't hear the difference between the hardware and software in this presentation is a shame because it looks like you are a musician.
What's the procedure in cascading (2) Apollo Quad Cores together for a
total of 16? I am using my Tascam DM 4800 which actually does not need any
interface but Id like to have 16 to 24 I can line up with the Tascam. Can
you also Cascade a Quad Core Apollo with the Apollo 16 for 24? Thanks
Thanks for responding! Wow that's great to hear! Did you add any ram or ssd
drives or is it stock running smooth? Sorry to bother you, just about to
pull the trigger on a Apollo and Mac Mini and there's not a lot of info out
there. Thanks man
Thanks for the video. I'm thinking of picking up the apollo. Awesome
interface. How does the mac mini run with your setup. Does it handle
everything ok or run hot or loud?
Nice setup Jaymel . I too have the Apollo Quad and absolutely LOVE it. Your
vocals are great my man. Keep up the good work , maybe Universal Audio
could use your tune about the Apollo in their ads???
I want to sell my rme ufx to get the apollo quad (now gives free
thunderbolt upgrade) do you like it? And what are you using for your
vocals? Any difference between the isa one and the apollo preamps? ISA
supposed to be very clean and so are the apollo preamps... do you see any
benefits of using the isa?
