Amateur radio aka "ham radio" operators still use RTTY. After WW2 they used surplus commercial teletype units, but aside from a few vintage equipment collectors, they now use PC's or laptops connected to their radios. There are even android apps for it.

I was a RATT operator on a "newer" version of the one shown. We had to change freq's at 0100 and it sucked because you had to either shorten or lengthen the doublet antenna in the dark. Blast from the past.

Yes, i've done this. It's scary, but all of the equipment here can be replaced by my android phone hooked to a shortwave radio small enough to fit in a briefcase, and run on battery power for hours.

The Service Selector switch didn't change when they went to the 106 Radio. I don't believe the 106 had a Tuning Light, as this one did
