+Ralph dekeyser i know it doesn't sound right but they kept its classification as an IFV since as you said tank destroyers dont really exist as a title anymore we all know its a tank destroyer but they just call it an IFV for easy reference also it doesnt matter how big the gun is they classify it where it best fits by using most of its characteristics with the 105 it gains HE and AP capability and down grades to a 7.62 mm m240 coax machine gun which leaves it as still being a very good IFV pair that with 8 wheels and 8 man carry capacity it fits in the IFV category far better than any other if they only classified by what stands out the israeli  merkava main battle tank could be a troop transport since it has a carry capacity of 6 men you see what im saying ? it's weird but they shove it where it fits most of the criteria

The body of the tank is actually a Canadian LAV III, the us military liked it so much they took it and made some minor modifications to it and changed the turret.
