Yeah definitely try it again. I love going back and "rediscovering" beers. There always seems to be something new out so I don't always get to do that. Thanks man!
Damn, a whole growler of La Freak. No doubt this is a new drunk ass
experience. I like this one too. I'll bet you were feeling like a Ls Freak
after a growler. LOL!! Great review.
CHEERS!!!!

+DJs BrewTubeHaha that's quite a mission alright! I actually asked him the other day and he said he does usually get a keg so I'm hoping that will be my next growler review! Oh and he said he is getting a keg of 2013 Double Bastard. Talk about mission impossible there!
+Crafty Beer Reviews I don't think could handle a whole growler of La Freak solo either. No shame in not finishing 64 ozs of 9.2% ABV hooch. Wonder if your growler supplier will have some Lagunitas Sucks this year. That is one I want to score a growler of for sure. CHEERS!!!!DJ
A very drunk ass experience! Haha. Hate to tell you, but I wimped out and couldn't finish the growler in one night. I was definitely feeling freaky after all that tasty booze! Thanks DJ!
Sunshine Wheat Ale New Belgium Brewing The Spit or Swallow Beer Review
Shagdog & Jammer have sunshine on their shoulders, because here comes the sun, Sunshine Wheat from New Belgium Brewing, that is! Brewed by: New ...
I'm a New Belgium fan, however they have gone downhill lately. Too many
other brewers have stepped up their game for me to continue wasting my time
with these guys.
However, I have a lot of good memories, like back when I used to love this
beer. In Northern Colorado, everyone knows "sunny wheat" and it's on tap
all over the place.
Fucking solid for what it is. These days, not enough hops for me though,
in a style like this.
I'm obsessed with session IPAs right now.
Man, so many breweries are doing just what you said -- using new varieties in new and interesting yet still sessionable ways.Don't give up on the hops just yet.
Yes, you are right about the "Centennial and Cascade." Some of these new varieties would be interesting to try as long as they don't make them too fruity etc. lol. Cheers!!
New hop varieties like Mosaic, Calypso, El Dorado, and un-named experimental varieties (see Sierra Nevada for examples of this. Stone Brewing too) really make for some interesting unique IPAs. The old "Centennial and Cascade: formula is probably what you're talking about -- it's like grapefruit/pine and has that IPA flavor you'd expect. With those new varieties you have SO many more flavors.Founder's All Day, Lagunitas Daytime Ale, and Stone Go-To IPA are all 'session IPAs' and all use a combination of new school and old school hops for some unique flavors.Sierra Nevada even did a beer that had experimental "Yakima hops" that had a spicy blueberry type flavor (no fruit used).
Lol, we've talked about how the number of craft brewers have grown and they need to come up with interesting and likeable beers otherwise they will fade once the market becomes too saturated. New Belgium will have to do the same being some of their beers are that special in comparison and they lose out due to price. It would be could to try some of theirs on tap though! Shagdog and have grown to like more of the IPA's than in the past but there are many of them that just taste the same or too similar in many instances. I think its the ones that we've tried and liked the most that have a unique take or flavor on the style. Cheers!!
