My converted S10 gas to diesel truck. It was a 4.3 vortec V6 gas engine with an automatic transmission, I removed them both and installed the Isuzu C223 4 ...
+Andrew Bishop There wasn't a neutral safety switch in this truck because it originally was an automatic, and I didn't bother to install one. Most every manual today has one, almost none had them years ago. I never had an problem with this set up.
+AcornFox This is ridiculusly low fuel consumption for a pickup! Since this motor is just 58hp I believe he does not drive it fast though. For a comparison a 2001 Nissan Micra, 800kg city car with 1.0L 60hp petrol engine gets around 7L/100km when driven on short distances and highways not exceeding 120 km/h.
dude you are a genius. I've got a '93 S10 that I've been looking to do a
diesel conversion on, but . . I'm not a smart guy around engines lol it
took me nearly 6 hours to change my starter, but I did it.
+Pat Bostip Thanks for the compliment. You need a broad mechanical and electrical knowledge to do this, but certainly don't have to be a genius. Just look at some of the tougher projects done by others here on Youtube, and there are some very amazing people out there.
I have a 95 s10 and I want to convert it from a 4.3 v6 to a diesel but time
is a little issue how long did it take you and did you need to change the
trans because you wanted a manual or because of the torque of the diesel?
+Iamastronomy Conversion was about 100 hrs give or take, in an unheated garage in the winter, and I wasn't in a rush. The auto that was in the truck was not set up to work with the diesel either for shift points or torque converter stall rpm, etc, and the bolt pattern wasn't anywhere close to the diesel block, and at 58hp, the manual was less hp loss than the automatic. And I wanted a manual in a truck. So, manual it became.

see these on the roads yet ..'everything u need for off roading' hmmm
except it will never see a dirt road wtf ! .. its almost 2016 now
helloooo .. wakeup GM ..
+Jay Dawg - im with you. Remember the Silverado ZR2 concept that disappeared? That truck was laughed at hysterically by the offroad crowd....but this truck looks more realistic, like a raptor fighter, just missing a high revving V6.
I like the look of it but it seems more like a Baja race truck. I'm
guessing it will price out around $50K though. If Toyota would bring the
Hilux here to America it would win out. They have 2 turbo diesel engines
and they both get over 30 mpg with incredible torque. But they say there is
not a market here for them, or the government wouldn't let them bring in
those awesome engines. I don't know what the real reason was, but a 3
cylinder turbo diesel engine with nearly 400 lbs ft of torque getting over
30 mpg would find a market here.
+Jesse Hernandez You're right. I've heard this was one of the reasons they didn't bring it here for what you just said. I have the new 2015 Tacoma 4L V6 and if I'm light on the gas pedal I can get around 20. But that's hard for me to do with the torque and power it has. I love gunning it. Love the sound of it.

+Sebulbas Guagmire This isn't normal, they turn the injection pump up, look at a modern Audi A6 3.0 tdi, BMW 535d or Mercedes 350 Bluetec, do you see any black smoke, no. And those engines are often cleaner then petrol engines in the USA.
+Lennard Baum Vor allem, bei den VWs ist das ja nicht mal so, dass die eigentlich nicht mal Euro 1 erfüllen, sondern halt Euro 6 nicht, aber was ist das, da ist ja China sauberer. xD
if you hate it why do you watch these videos? we like it its our opinions so why even bother commenting? and btw that black smoke falls straight to the ground where it CAME FROM TO BEGIN WITH.
+D Taylor well well not everyone needs to haul dead deer, logs and pull trailers and shit with their big trucks. People buy different cars for different reasons. Why the hell would you compare a turbo civic to a stock corvette? The vette obviously has more potential. You race within your class of cars. Fwd 4cyl vs an 8cyl rwd?? The setups need to be similar.. Rice stands for rediculous immature cosmetic enhancements. Im talking performance only. But youre clearly biased so think what you want. Respect the car community. Everyone's different. And everyone has a different budget..
+2joke lol. Hey, just cus civics have a bad reputation for being riced out by poor people who can only afford cosmetic enhancements, doesnt mean a proper tuner cant get a hold of one to make it respectable and fast hahaha. 2 stroke diesels just sound different at high rpms thats all lol. It sounds faster than it is haha
