I've come to really love this car, and I hated giving it back. So much so that I now really want to build a Volvo racecar. But before that can happen, I need to tell ...
The internet would be a better place if guys like you would be more serious
about their contribution... Thumbs down

Trust the Experts on Bad Weather: The 2013 Volvo S60 T5 AWD
Scandinavians know bad weather. Thankfully, they know the automotive engineering involved in tackling that weather with unparalleled all-wheel drive.
2012 Volvo S60 R-Design 0-60 mph
Here is a quick 0-60 mph video in my 2012 Volvo S60 R-Design. Slightly up hill with about 3/4 throttle, and hitting the gas did kick me back a little so I apologize ...
Yes I know that but what I'm saying is that if you're not giving it full throttle, then you're not getting the full power from the engine and it will accelerate slower
To get a good 0-60 time you don't always just mash the gas to the floor. My car will take off if I mash it to about 1/4 to 1/2 throttle. I can pop it into sport mode too and it takes off even faster....just haven't taken any new vids in a while.
Dude you don't even have a clue what I actually had done to it. With the
shit that I actually DID have done to I would've still considered it stock
and anyone else would've. I did get defensive because you were being
offensive. It's retards like you who won't ever read between the lines of
anything because you see a chance to shut someone down immediately. So fuck
you, your mom, your dad, your dead grandmom and granddad, their dead mom's
and dad's * on both sides of the family may I add*. Fuck u
And I KNOW my car wasn't the shit, and I never said it was. You assumed
that. I don't go around knocking people because of what they drive or what
they do or what they have. Some people like what they have and there's
nothing wrong with that. So Like I said, go fuck yourself. You don't even
know me dude and you're talking shit! I'll admit to being wrong when I
commented on the 300C thing. Because I'm MAN enough to do that, but YOU...
You would keep this shit going. So I'm gonna try and end it...
Well I must say, a cyber-argument is truly the most immature thing ever
honestly. And I really don't know how it escalated but I do know that I was
pissed, and can definitely tell you that that's where the "Fuck" word came
from. But put yourself in my position: The only comment you get is an
insult where it really isn't due. And yes I DID own a Golf, and I NOW won a
Jetta. Almost the same thing, and NO I DON'T have any shame in that. So
whatever. I like what I have, and don't care who doesn't.
I do not recommend anybody buying a used R without an extended warranty
unless you do most of the maintenance/repairs yourself. Timing belt is a
given and if stick - your slave cylinder is bound to go out.. and Volvo
decided to stick it INSIDE THE DAMN TRANSMISSION! - dropping tranny for a
slave cylinder is crazy - probably a good time for a new clutch by that
time as well. I picked up an SRT-6, extremely reliable supercharged AMG
engine with AMG tranny and timing chain - I'm a happy camper :)
Dude, if you can read. It says "JK" So do yourself a favor. Read through
your shit. I must say that I made a mistake and read too fast myself. It
said 300'C' and not just 300. The Charger & a 300 3.5L is the one that I
actually beat with my STOCK Golf yes. And fyi, I'm a grown ass fucking man.
Birthday was last month I'm 22. My mom has an RT Magnum with a 5.7L HEMI
and I ALREADY KNOW I would NEVER hang with her in something like a Golf.
Since you take me for dumb, I'll treat you like you are.
Wow you're obviously a 16 year old kid. Your 97 Golf would have trouble
running faster than 16.2 IF it's a GTI. If it's not a GTI, you would be
running 17s. 300Cs run mid 14s stock and high 13s with an intake and tune.
I raced a 2008 GTI 6 speed manual at the drag strip a few months back. He
was running mid 15s @ 90 mph all day. I recently raced a 300C with only a
CAI and Diablosport tuner. He did 14.0 @ 100 mph... You probably raced a
300 with a 2.7L or a 300C that wasn't trying to race.
Also don't forget it is a 3700lb car with a small, poorly designed 2.5L
inline 5 and awd. it doesn't have much potential because side walls between
the cylinders are very thin and the turbo is maxed out. look at my other
videos.. I just posted a video of my srt6 doing 15-95mph.. it's a 12 second
car. my folks still have their R (05' GT) and it feels like a civic in
comparison. make an acceleration video and prove me wrong. it would be nice
if stock R kept up with the e46 m3s, 335i, 135i.
ever get it dyno'd? maybe it wasnt putting out what you thought. All im
saying is mine looks to be as fast as yours and the reason for mentioning a
K&N is to show that ive done nothing to mine. Fine maybe its deceiving
because its a video, but i guess I'd hoped to see more from the car after
what you did to it cause its definitly not that much faster than mine if
any. Comparing it to an e46 M3, have you looked at the torque specs? thats
where the difference is..
My angle gear was leaking pretty bad, little things like axle bolts, sway
bar end-links. Apparently the car had a very small head gasket leak when I
sold the car. The engine on this car is very weak, Volvo squeezed a 2.5L
inline 5 sitting in FWD engine configuration which leaves absolutely no
space for anything - the side walls between the cylinders are extremely
thin. Horrible turning radius is another result of lack of space.
Stock close? not even. I just finally got the IPD stage 2 loaded today,
along with 3" turboback exhaust, no cat. Whoa what a difference. Car
doesn't start losing power at 5k like it used to. Pulls hard from 2500 all
the way to redline. Like a whole different car now. You really should
upgrade that DP, it's choking your car back! High end of your rpms look
like they're kinda suffering because of the dp. Still love your vid!
All I have in my R is a K&N filter and a boost gauge. My car would
definitly have thrown an overboost code becasue its got the stock computer
and I believe its set at 14psi. It will spike to about 18 but if it stays
there for longer than like a second the CPU shuts the turbo right down.
Anyway I swear my car would get to 120 as fast faster than this one. Not
that Impressed seeing over 20psi, IPD stage 1, 3" exhaust, etc.
You realize that HP is calculated from torque. E46 m3 would destroy a stock
R.. it wouldn't even be close. I pulled a few car lengths on a stock m3
from 50-120 and I put bus lengths on stock R's - both GT and manual. please
record a similar video of your car so we can compare. looking online at a
speedo might be misleading but it's way faster than stock. m3 is a low
13second car and stock R is a low 14second car.
I did have a problem, and I already brought it up to you. Someone got a
little defensive.... Your Golf would not even keep up with a 3.5, sorry. It
was a base model 2.7. Congratulations on being a big boy! As soon as you've
built your own engines, transmissions and rear ends then come talk to me
about being a man. Until then, and while you still drive a Golf, you're a
kid.
So kick ass. Just builds and builds all the way to 120 mph. So you bought
an ECU upgrade from IPD, some type of air intake (did you somehow relocate
the stock system?), and basically a freer-flowing muffler, right? You left
the cat on? Are you really feeling a big difference? For $2000 or whatever,
would you do the upgrades again? Do it differently, etc.? Thanks.
@Grifkylian I thought they were 2.0T by '05? That's a decent run, i'm
guessing you had some good mods. I saw a stock '08 2.0T GTI 6MT out at the
local drag strip last summer and he couldn't get it below mid 15s. Then
again neither could the SRT4, Lightning, LT1 Z28, and numerous other cars.
Needless to say, 105 degrees and elevation was against us.
Comparing a muscle car to the S60R is silly. I'm glad you can achieve
similar horsepower with almost twice the displacement of the R. For those
who asked, I loved the R but the reliability leaves a lot to be desired.
The car is sold, picked up a new toy, check out an acceleration run of my
SRT-6 under my videos.. much faster than my R was.
if you have the manuel tranny then ur doin it about right. i wouldnt try to
get it much higher than 6500, i read on a forum that their not built to
withstand to much past that. but i rev my manumatic tranny past 5000 all
the time, and VOLVO says that the sticks can hold up too 6750,
midnightlooovin doesnt know what he is talking about...
I had a custom 3" catback with an IPD Stage 1 tune, IPD TCV and other
little things like that. I'd pull away from stock E46 M3's and put bus
lengths on stock STI's. Great car but just a bit sloppy, clutch is too
soft/long, shifter has little feel and the steering wheel absolutely
offered no feedback.
lol are you kidding me? Look at the other stock acceleration videos. No
stock R will pull nearly as hard considering I'm hitting 20+ psi. Also I
raced and easily beat my friend's R with an exhaust, 6spd but without a
tune. And I also pulled on another R with an intake/DP/Exhaust
Very nice! I am going to take my car to IPD and have them do stage 2 in the
next week or so. Was your boost always so smooth before the tune? Mine
bounces like crazy at 12psi, and i believe it's the boost valve fluctuating
to keep the 12 psi. Is yours an 04?
365 crank HP is on the optimistic side. Also eurosport sucks and you should
go with IPD. Then go to a shop and have them build you a downpipe and a
catback for less money. I bet that IPD Stage 2 with same mods as cars with
other tunes will pull on them
i still think that your performance is not to impressive compared to stock.
and also when i drive my car and look at the gauges, it seems comparable to
yours. maybe try getting evolve software and exhaust and down pipe for some
real power increase
um, i know more about the s60r than you think. im just giving my opinion.
infact today i basically repeated what you did in your video and i looked
at the gauges. your performance is better but not that much. and listen to
some real music.
Search "seahawksrule12" here on youtube. My car is the green trans am.
Speedo shots my friend took are from pretty much 50 to 150 traction
limited. :) Not trying to make the R this fast but more punch on the daily
driver is always nice.
Nice. I just ordered the TCV yesterday from them, and am going to run my
car down there in a week or two for stage 2....i believe. You state stage
one right? Do you know the difference between their stage 1 vs 2? Thanks
again.
Ok you win, especially since you said the "F" word more than me. That's how
you tell the men from the boys huh? Do yourself a favor and don't ever
mention owning a Golf again and you'll probably stay out of trouble.
Yep, IPD stage 1 tune, ipd intake snorkel with aem dryflow filter, 3"
custom exhaust with the cat still on. Yeah big difference over stock, just
look at some other stock acceleration s60r videos on youtube.
@rawkusrk like I already said, my car had 50+ over your stock R. Lol @
mentioning air filter and boost gauge. I pulled on stock e46 M3s (333hp and
lighter). You would lose by bus lengths to the same M3.
