Because drag strips aren't really anything society needs, cops don't buy the cars... Its there job to stop anyone speeding, and I'm sure this guy was over speed limit lol dude, think about it in a adult mind. Not some 17 year old with a VW.

+Joe11Blue there is truth in to what you said i can admit cops do some bullshit calls sometimes i had 4 tickets for stuff i couldnt do and to fight the case i was going to be charged an extra $400 and they were for speeding doing 65 in a 45 and i wasnt doing that and then for doing 45 in a 25 i got it again and then one for my car being to loud but i never gave my car gas to go it was just on and it wasnt loud when it was on and one for a headlight being out but they were both on and he still gave me a fix it ticket in total i racked up about $6000 in tickets

so you're saying removing a cop car will stop crime? because at the end of the day we still need a cop not a drag strip there are still crimes going on around us more than a car going fast.

+detaart I personally don't have a problem with it being a "public" road... but it's clearly in the city, on a busy street... Take it to some back roads or low traffic highways. 

what about the other 99% of the actual criminals out and about? they got him just because he fucked off and they saw it that guy could go to the race track if he wanted he just decided to fuck off and got busted like everyone else who is out fucking off and getting busted

I'm not saying your wrong. but I live about 5 minutes WALKING DISTANCE of a drag strip and there is a shit ton of street racing here... And they have street legal races.

I race bikes and cars on road courses, i own two supercharged elises.That guy got caught fair and square.Cops can be serious buzzkills sometimes, granted.  Fining people for a bit of carpark fun, or a little burnout, etc.This guy just came in way too hot, sideways, on a public road.  He's out of line, and he should get what he deserves.

its not like a cop busts one person and thats it, they obviously patrol throughout their shift, that guy nearly lost control, he could have killed poor innocent bystanders, im not trying to say i dont like fast cars or burnouts, just an answer to your question.

I live in south florida.  We got 3 drag strips one called Homestead Speedway,  County Line which is close to my house and Palm Beach Raceway and everyone here still street race illegally.  It did help a  bit though I must admit.

A quarter mile drag strip costs 500k for the strip alone, let alone grandstands and fixtures. I wasn't aware that the Ford Crown Victoria costs more than a 458 italia?

Pretty sure just because there's a quarter mile or a half mile strip nearby, people aren't going to cease being idiots on roads.
