Judging by the Farley version it seems they had a different look for shreck and was not going to be CGI. This is because of the time persented. However I'm glad Mike did the voice. Farley would not have sounded right with the current look and CGI that was used.

Its not CGI it's just animation. CGI is animation mixed with real action and special FX.

Tbh i would love to see Chris Farley voice Shrek in the 2D animated style and not 3D. Now i am not against 3D films but the shrek movie would be a lot better if Chris was alive and plus it was 2D. Agree?

This version of Shrek would have resonated so well with Chris Farley and his real-life struggles and insecurities. Chris Farley had deeply-rooted self-esteem issues and wanted so badly to be loved and to be able to take care of himself. This version would have been a much more touching story than the movie we got.

+unclesporkums That sucks, if they were so close to being finished... but things just happen. Like how Paul Walker died during the making of Furious 7, to which, they hired his brother, and had to use CGI to match the physical features directly. Mike Myers still did a good job, though.
