Oregon State UPSETS #1 USC - High Quality - Part 1 - 9/25/08
Highlights from the first half of the Beavers 27-21 win over the #1 ranked USC Trojans from Reser Stadium. First win over a #1 team since the Giant Killers 3-0 ...
This game wasnt about athletes. I still believe that USC would beat these
guys if they played again. This was a simple gameplan executed well by Mike
Riley. He saw something no one else in the nation did, and exploited it.
Taking a 5-6 runner and sending him downhill at this "insurmountable" D. I
think SC was a victim of trying to make guys (namely Joe McKinight) happy
and not allowing the game to come to them. All of that cutsie motion crap
they did and BOOM, down 21-0. Keep it simple. OSU did.
Mike Riley simpley outcoached Pete. The man deserves credit. He gets it
done. SC needs to play the best guys, and allwo Stafon and CJ to take the
lead and mix Joe McKnight in. He is good, but they clearly cater to him for
whatever reason. He is only good in space, and cant run in between the
tackles without them putting him on the move pre-snap. Stafon & CJ are
tremendous runners and it is a shame they are trapped in this "make Joe
happy" scenario. Hec, Jahvid Best is better than McKnight.
This still pisses me off. I was sitting in a classroom in basic training,
Fort Jackson, SC. When the drill sergeant walked in, he asked if there were
any Oklahoma fans in the room. One guy raised his hand. DS said he should
be happy, USC lost (I believe Oklahoma was #2 at the time). I didn't find
out until the next week when my dad sent me a letter with the newspaper
clippings.
I was there when they beat USC two years earlier. I wanted to see them beat
the #1 team. Go Beavs!
USC set a record for winning the Rose Bowl 3 years in a row... aka....
WE'RE TIRED OF THE ROSE BOWL. Hahahaha. enjoy that. We'll go beat a team
from a new conference in the Fiesta Bowl or something. USC lost to Oregon
in 2007 when they were #2 in the nation, lost to Oregon State in 2008 when
they ended the season a ranked 9-4 team, and lost to Oregon this year when
they were in the Top 10 again. USC doesn't lose to only unranked teams, but
at least they can win big games! ;-)
lsu does suck, usc every year is like were the best blabla then the lose
;p, flroida still sucks were the best blabla well you lost to ole miss
kinda sad and didn't they lose to michigan in the bowl game, alabama could
be the best team right now or missouri, texas will lose and so will
oklahoma which will lose in a conference game or in a bowl game again watch
out for utah, byu, boise state, vanderbilt. they are good and there proving
why the BCS needs a playoff bad
Yea I understand where ur comin from, we haven't won our big games I admit
that. We only choked against Florida bcuz we wurr Heavily favs, but our
other big games we wurr underdogs, but we still got embarrased. It's just
nit our time to win anything time changes. Now u got teams winning that
werent 15-20 years ago. Like Florida lsu Boise state, more upsets r
happening bcuz programs r gettin on the map and recruiting better
not really true. The Oregon Ducks beat them last year head to head... no
tricks, just a pure football game. I've only seen USC lose 2 games where
they were outplayed by an even-to-better team and that was Texas in the
title game and Oregon last year (both teams were probably the best in the
country though, as the Ducks were on their way to the NC game if Dixon and
6+ starters didn't go down).
Btw. that "weak ass school" that "exposed" USC ended the season ranked 9-4,
just like the Ole Miss team that beat Florida at the swamp. Yes, that same
Oregon State team, you know who they lost to? Utah, who went 13-0 and beat
Alabama. On the road at Penn State. Man, get a clue. Got love for terrelle
pryor, dude is a beast, but don't talk crap until you win the games that
matter.
Its funny SC has the probably the best weather and the some of the most
talented players in college football. Then we go into Oregon st. Barkly
gets hurt, no excuses. We get our a**e* handed to us. I can't say Oregon
St. isn't talented, they are. I just want to know, "WHAT THE HELL HAPPEN TO
OUR GREAT PROGRAM" . OREGON St. 36 USC 7.
And another thing...just to throw in my two cents in the discussion between
USC and Ohio State. USC may lose one every year to someone they should
beat, but you gotta say that unlike the Buckeyes lately, they DO win the
big games when they count. OSU's not necessarily playing in the SEC these
days, either.
i wuznt callin them a weak team, i wuz meaning like teams that r weaker
than them. i should have worded it different my bad. And we only chocked to
Florida ill admit that, but texas and lsu we wurr underdoggs i dont call
those chocking games. Were still a power house team. and i like oregon
states team
lets beat em again beavs! i know we lost to the cougs, but we cant let that
ruin our season. fact is guys, we play a hell of a lot better against
tougher teams, the only reason why we loose easy ones is because we go into
them thinking were gonna own. DOWN WITH THE TROJANS!!!
no we r a power house team were always in the itle hunt. how can u say usc
is a power house, arent they suppose to beat there weaker opponets that
arent ranked? yea i thought so. ohio state is still a top 3 program of
all-time i knw u dnt wanna admit it but its the truth
dude.. jmaal.. what are you trying to prove? you badmouth USC on so many
videos.. lmao. "USC gets exposed in these games?" LOL... yes they do, when
it shouldn't really matter. At least they WIN WHEN IT MATTERS.... Unlike
the Chokeyes from Ohio. hahahah you moron
usc is overated and they cant beat any sec teams u know why cause they
sucks ass u can go fuck urself and when usc cna prove that they can win and
not losse then u can say sumthin.fuck u and usc faggot ass team only get
hype cause yall sum big ass sbabies.
ima ohio state fan and i know we lost our last couple big games bust usc is
overrated 2 they lose to unranked schools the last couple seasons Stanford
UCLA OregonSt, they get exposed against those schools badly, Great Job
Beavers i wuz lovin this victory
Oregon State is in my opinion a great sleeper team...not the best pure
talent clearly good team...they've got the Rodgers bros and a solid QB who
leads the Pac 10 which is a TOUGH conference this year i will admit. I
would not want to play OSU.
Great game last season. I'm a transplanted Trojan follower, but I'll keep
it real: Oregon State WORKED USC down in the trenches. There probably
wasn't another squad they faced last year that dominated them up front like
that.
Think's to that inception by Sammy Strather to help out Oregon state. To
give USC a wakeup call. The MVP Jacquizz and Jame's Roger. Brother's. This
shocked me the most #1 team getting beat by Oregon st. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was luck now there horrible sucky butts yell
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Get ready beavs to get your butts kicked! Go ducks!
i know they do. why is it i can only hate a team if they suck? i know they
are a good team, i just hate them and they are overrated. there are other
teams in the nation that beat teams from other conferences.
not quite. you should research your college football and realize that
victories against the trojans are few and far between.. pretty hard to come
by.. you can see that for yourself on new years day.
