Daily Vlog #7 - Starts with a nice little ride in our 88 Vanagon. I haven't driven it since the holidays and it felt great. I also experienced a flood of water entering ...
CALIGOLD
CALIGOLD showcases Chris Lindner sending some of Southern California's harder newly developed bouldering around San Diego. Edited by Carlos Mason.
The cracks on the Bullet Hole Wall are more realistically, 5.8 and 5.10 (R
to L), not sure about incorporating them both like in this video. That "5.8
Mantle" on Beehive Rock is a sandbag and is a new problem historically. The
original problem laybacks inside the dihedral or jams the corner directly
(harder).
Thanks doug! you inspired me to continue with the bouldering! thanks for all the training! lets conquer the ninja warrior
Vlog Hike to Three Sisters Falls. Pine Valley, CA. San Diego.
Three sisters waterfall. About 5 miles round trip. 2900 elevation. Directions to the three sisters falls: A lot of people have mentioned they have gotten lost on their ...
sure. did you mean gear wise? as in what i wear and pack i use? or other
little supplies? I'm thinking you meant the other little supplies used that
was brought out to complete the hike. In my opinion you should bring more
than 2 liters of water, high resistance gloves (cycling gloves, gardening
gloves with grip could be used as an alternative), a hat, ( i prefer the
wide brimmed hats from REI which covered my neck too). For blisters, (since
this was gear that was brought out which i used) I am
still trying other products that are out on the market so I may make a
truly helpful video. Seriously, before I got sick i spent 50 bucks on
products for prevention. If you want me to explain the gear I use, wear,
carry, I could make a video of that. I am planning on purchasing a bigger
camel back though. If you do the hike. I truly reccomend to bring more than
3liters of water if possible. Both my buddies had 3 liters and 1 finished
his 2 miles back and the other only had half a cup full. As
Yeah moleskin. I'm going to try out some other products first and i figured
I could just compile a video of products I've used and if they've worked.
I'm currently going to be carrying more stuff on top of the other stuff
because I'm training for a hike I hope to win the lottery for. Not telling
anyone where it's to yet :) Poison ivy thankfully i have not had it yet.
sucks that you had to experience that. my friend had it during our biking
trip. ehhh. pretty gross.
Great Hike and you will get a great work out! I did this hike Nov 3, 2012.
Yes I agree with bringing engough water is an absolute must and at least a
energy bar. I managed to do the hike with less than 1 liter, but wish I had
at least another liter. FYI, the long rope at 2 minute mark in the video
was no longer there. Make sure you bring stable hiking shoes/boots with
good grip. Allow at least 4 hours to complete the hike. It's very rewarding
in the end.
Definitely not bouldering! Scrambling yes, but not bouldering. Bouldering
involves actual free climbing with no ropes on a vertical surface or even
an overhang. I guess the biggest difference is that in scrambling you
rarely use your hands for more than balance, and in bouldering you are
using your hands for full body leverage. Still a great Vlog with lots of
good info thanks :)
Mt. Woodson July4th woot woot! I'll pick you up 6am. Unless you want to
leave at 5am. and we could be back around noon. Eric doesn't want to hike
with us to Mt. Woodosn. pretty sure. I'm going to try and talk to him to
come because Mt. Woodson was so so peaceful at the top. I took him hiking
with me to the 2 summits (im working in the vlog right now) he wasn't haven
it hahahha.
whoa. wait. Hold up. HOLD UP BRAH. You're from Ireland? That is hella cool.
I'm actually communicating with someone from Ireland? This to me is pretty
exciting. Next to maybe one day witnessing dolphins cry diamonds. wow. this
is so cool. I'm actually going to be studious now and google the crap out
of the information you have just told me about Ireland. Boom. :)
as active cyclist, century rider, i was able to conserve my 2 liter pack
for the hike. The last 1/4 mile i was out. let me know if you want me to
discuss my gear. i'd be happy to. let me know how the hike goes! I been
sick 2 weeks, so i need to start mediocre again and I'm planning to do el
cajon soon.
Ahh, moleskin and...I have no clue. Really curious what you used to prevent
blisters. lol I used to live in Colorado, and I always carried way more
then I needed as well. But everyone loves you when it actually is needed!
And I totally understand about the poison ivy, that stuff hurts! lol
Thanks for the support and glad you enjoyed the video. I am super stoked to
get back out hiking as well. Of course! cannot sit down...ever...and stay
still...noooope! Going to work on the vlog hike I did this weekend.
Glad you enjoyed the video. The hike was really awesome and not at all what
either of us expected. It's exactly what every yelp viewer said it was
going to be and more since we went when it was hot. Worth it though.
Are you from San Diego? Apologies if I have asked you this before. I have
to ask a couple times till i remember where each youtuber is from and yes I
actually take the time to remember :)
oh i forgot make sure to have hiking socks. wool blend. they help prevent
blisters as well as they are moisture wicking. you could pick up REI brand
socks which are nice for $12 i believe.
Thanks. really glad you enjoyed the video. More to come. I;m training for a
surprise hike (editing a vlog hike right now which explains a little bit
more about the surprise hike).
hm idk. but now that i'm reading this comment... i think i should hit up
this trail with my friend this season. its been raining in sd off and on.
snow is in the hills already.
Looks like a very fun hike! I am glad you are able to get back out to enjoy
nature after your blister. Thanks for sharing this with us and Keep up the
great work.
yeah. I probably wouldn't go swimming in it right now. haha. water is a bit
stagnant so mold and algae should be developing. April would be cool, the
rainy months
Our three sisters are three rivers in Ireland the Barrow the Nore and the
River Suir. But I sure do like your sisters.... thanks again Yogi great
