LMFAO! Not to hard to fool anyone either just shove some pillows under the
blankets and hide behind the door! He's like a fourteen year old trying to
sneak out of the house!
Thrax makes his first apperance in the 2001 animated movie, 'Osmosis Jones' about one white blood cell's fight against a deadly disease that threatens to kill ...
+PARAMOTH Actually he may not be a virus as doctors and scientists know it. Normal viruses generally try to evolve and spread as much as they can. Thrax kills people by disabling their hypothalamus gland (which increases the body temperature at an alarming and lethal rate) but he did not seemed concerned about reproduction. There is even a fan-theory that indicates that Thrax is a genetically engineered bio-weapon rather than a virus.
+PARAMOTH The scarlet fever is already in the medical books and definitely not more lethal than Ebola, so I very much doubt that Thrax is a scarlet fever.
+Tronoid Thrax is a completely fictional virus. I don't know of any real-life virus which disables the hypothalamus and dissolves body cells. He did mention that his goal is to gain recognition in the medical book so I'm assuming that no doctor is aware of his existence.
Osmosis Jones - Thrax's First Encounter
"Ebola is a case of dandruff compared to me!" This is Thrax's first scene (excluding his entrance), where he encounters the germs and bacteria in Frank's armpit ...
And now that the Ebola virus has hit, and hopefully cured, I can
tell you that it's not like dandruff compared to you, in fact it was a lot
worse, not fudging smart now, are you Morpheus.
Cured? It has not been cured, the outbreak is dealt with yes, but the virus is not cured. And Thrax is deadlier than the Ebola virus because he is virtually undetectable; and when he does strike, it's probably too late to save the infected person i.e. low recoveryy chance.
I only recently found out about this movie (thanks NC), and I have to say,
Thrax seems to be WAY too good of a villain for this. I mean, this movie
has live action gross-out comedy, anda buddy-buddy cop duo shtick. What
you'd expect out of an average children's flick. But then we have a DEADLY
disease who SLICES, STRANGLES and BOILS cells to death on-screen, keeps a
DNA chain as a souvenir of all the people he KILLS, which includes SMALL
CHILDREN AND THE ELDERLY, and has a goal to pull off a murderous speed-run
on a single father in order to become a recognized lethal force. Talk about
a freaking tonal disconnect.
+Vinny Raptor But you have to admit, he has SOME valid points. Take a look the "drinking game" section. Too many Cop movie cliches in such a short amount of time.
+I. Thorberg Thrax was originally influenced by Freddy Krueger such as his claws. Freddy wore a long coat in Wes Craven's New Nightmare. All in all it's a mix between Nightmare on Elm Street and The Matrix.
