Best Changing of the Guard, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Arlington
Soldiers assigned to the 3rd Infantry Regiment, The Old Guard, conduct a change of guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery, ...
These people really think they are something, when they are nothing more
than a number to our government. What a lame ceremony. These guys really
need to take the corn cob out of their butts before they walk in public.
Missy you don't not understand what the military is do you? It is discipline and if they weren't disciplined they would be slouching around like some people today. You are probably to young to understand what this really means. Either that or you are an adult who is ignorant . I'm a teenager and I understand the discipline that these men do. I may not know of all of the training that they do but I'm in marching band. If you don't know, marching is somewhat like this video. Discipline and concentration . Please don't comment stuff like they have a corn cob up their butt. That is very rude and disrespectful. I hope that you are trolling and actually understand this. If you are simply to ignorant to understand, I feel sorry for you. What these people do is extraordinary. These are the top men in the marines. Please think about your words and how it can affect people before you say or type them.
That is a strange walk they do, I guess to stay quiet to show respect, it
almost looks robotic. British army would be "CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH,
KER-CRUNCH!!!
+Tomas Martin Arlington National Cemetery is in Arlington, Virginia, just across the Potomac River from Washington D.C. That's a common misconception because it is so close to D.C. and most people make that a part of a trip to Washington D.C.

To prevent graffiti and other vandalism, people used to picnic there and leave garbage, a long loooong time ago. I think, although it is just a thought, that it also is meant to not leave the Unknown Soldier alone.
+Misty Coombs The 39 dislikes came from people that do not realize that those men that guard the tomb and those within it paid for their freedom that they enjoy.
+jeffrey dunnYou are the most powefull country in the world? xD You've been fighting men in sandals for the last 2 decades and you're getting your arses whooped like little boys. You lost in Vietnam, in Afhanistan, in Iraq, in Syria, in Ukraine, just stop being silly and be quiet. xD Democracy is not a bad thing but you don't have it.
+MartinsArmAChannel guessing your country brainwashed you to think that democracy is a bad thing.....funny that America has it....and get we are the most powerful country in the world
+jeffrey dunn I'm not from the USA so I coudln't give less of a damn who died for your political goals, oops I mean "freedom". All I'm saying is this looks stupid compared to other countries guards.
You are what's wrong of this country, they are doing this to show respect for the fallen soldiers that died for your freedom and your over here calling it gay.....I'm just guessing your not to bright in school, you play a sport and you play a lot of video game
Unplugged: Guarding The Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier
In a salute to our nation's Veterans, CBS News' Fernando Suarez visits with Sgt. Benton Thames, an honor guard for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
What an honour to do this. I would so love to do this, however I have the
misfortune of being a women, thus I am not permitted. The respect I have
for these men do no have words. And for those who say this is "a waste of
time and money," Go fuck yourself. You clearly don't understand the words
HONOUR, COMMITMENT and RESPECT. Those men in the tomb are Heroes, who gave
their lives for the country they loved. They sure as hell deserve more
respect than you, and they get it.
Hey, my name is C/SSgt Hilsen of the MN-941 AFJROTC and I am a Color Guard
Co-Commander. My job is NOTHING compared to these great soldiers job. I
would do ANYTHING to do this. And to all you people who think this is just
a waste: What would you do without US protecting you?
Umm I don't know. Free from a corrupt government that holds the military over our heads like a guillotine I guess... If you think government works for the people and not themselves and special interest. You are deluded
Love the soldiers, hate the war.. Love the soldiers, hate the war.. They
should make every member of congress have weekly mandatory visits to these
sites to be reminded how their decisions truly impact people..
+Louis S.W It would be far more honorable, and respectable if they put that much care and concern toward actually dealing with our enemies in the manner called for. That, would makes us proud, and therefore, them honorable. Guarding the "dead", and ignoring the living, AND the threats right here in their own country is no honorable thing. Stop wasting our hard-earned money on pomp, and wasted munitions.
Why does being a guard of this tomb require a person to have the most
boring mundane lifeless life that nobody in their right mind would ask for
no amount of recognition or pride, honor is worth this in my opinion life
is seriously to short to work 24hrs then have a day off only to polish
shoes and measure insignias down to the smallest decimal place.I have the
utmost respect for these people what they have done and do, but it seems as
though (honorable military position= in order to show discipline life must
be the exact opposite of life) Respect is one thing but these people seem
to give up so much to receive a decorative symbol that prevents you from
drinking or swearing for the rest of your life... what?. Swearing in public
should be a privilege for these people drinking as well.I just think
people who fight wars deserve more freedom and happiness. What's the point
of fighting to protect life (most times with war this is not the case
unfortunately )if you cannot live it .
+Homegrownmaster The Tomb of the Unknowns represents the epitome of what it means to be a citizen. This isn't about a particular person, but honoring the spirit of that kind of sacrifice. It's a hard job, but service isn't supposed to be about what's in it for you.
I just buried my parents there at Arlington and was there for the first
time ever and got to experience the changing of the guard at the Tomb of
the Unknowns. Th crew that does this are amazing. If you have any respect
for precision GO SEE THIS! You'll walk taller and feel prouder to be an
American. I sure did thanks to these fine gentlemen. Totally awesome!
actually no I'm not sad because i know you are just a shriveled up little 14 year old douche that just wants to fucking terrorize peoples channels just because you are a little fuck boy with no life and or balls.
+SKYRECRUIT236, if someone were to act immaturely, they would have had the initiative to drive to Arlington, Virginia, park their car at the visitors building , then either walk the 3/4 mile uphill to the location, or take the tour bus. It is a military cemetary, and everyone knows that. It seems to be too much effort just to casually walk in and mock the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown. If you have been here, you would know what I'm talking about.
+Jason Gray good this guy telling the people to be silent. No has respect these days. I wen to D.C. for my 8th grade field trip and my class went to the tomb and there a was group saying very disrespectful things. they were taken out of the area and they were punished as the school saw fit.
+Jason Gray Welcome to the land of Queer and Whore filth.Did you really think that the worship and adulation of Queers and Whores was compatible with a healthy society???When you saw American traditions being defecated upon and desecrated by being replaced with Fag and Slut glorification, did you sit by like a docile lemming or did you stand up and speak out despite the risks said behavior may entail?Respect and America no longer go hand in hand. Now sit back down and go worship your Queers like Big Brother wants you to do.In another 20 years the guards themselves will be joking and laughing as they kiss each other and pinch each other's ass cheeks. Just wait and see.....
+NUCK CHORRIS Now I know your're a Brit because you said "best mate". That alone should have you shutting your mouth in embarassment. At least you're not a loudmouth American.
+Lou Cignahe's a soldier not a trained fighter lol.. I already told you i know 16yr olds that would beat down him and his best mate at the same time... Learn the difference between a shouty military guy and a trained fighter LooooL. I could beat his full platoon up one after the other even tired i could beat any non trained fighter with ease. idiot get real
Who said I was being tough it's called public speaking if you can't handle it stay off the internet and no I am not playing keyboard warrior you don't even know HOW to use that comment so stop using it loser!
+Klonoa I"d love to see you troll this guy in the video. Then we'd see how big and tough you are. In the meantime, troll away, keyboard warrior. Lmfao @ U
+Jason Gray It is normal, because it is 2015 and there is no any reason to dress people in something, that is not normal nowadays.Any psychologist will say you, it is not possible to avoid laughter of you, if you do things like they do.And it is completely normal, and have nothing to do with respect.
+Jason Gray ,if any consolation, I was there on July 29, 2015, the crowd was very respectful, including children.
★HD★ Changing of the Guard | Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

Wow, I just watched Hair (with all of its anti-military message) and
freaked out how a mind can be "domesticated" in such way it does´t obey
reasoning or emotions but only robotic commands. Also how these commands
are done and obeyed with ultimate precision, I can feel the evolution of
such almost unnatural movements through all the military history. I cannot
believe that I could go to the army and become this kind of person. I am
absolutely impressed by this ritual and I will keep watching
+Vladimir Shlevkov Bullshit, you don't become a robot from being in the military. The preciseness and discipline is done to honour their fallen comrades, not because they have been brainwashed to stop thinking, lmao.If anything, me being in my countries military training only made me more of a lazy ass bastard.
what a rifle is that? maybe a springfield?
i know, we in germany use also a traditional rifle in "wachbattailon"
(guard-battalion):
The Mauser Karabiner 98k, an old weapon from 1898 which was used in WW I
and II.
(sorry for bad english)
Back when I carried it, the M1 Garand seemed like an excessively heavy load. But it handled the recoil of the 30-06 so well we could shoot it all day. When I left the army I thought the M-14 would take over and last forever. Sorry the little .223 won.
+Ron Hoffstein 7.62x51mm NATO round actually. The cartridge is a little shorter than the .30-06 Springfield round the M1 and Springfield rifles fired. I lugged one of those around entirely too much in basic training! We didn't get the M16 in Germany in the unit I was in until 1971!
how de fuck are any soldiers nowadays dying unknown?
You have the following ways to identify:
Dog-tag
Tattoos
Birthmarks
Dental records
Defects
Missing limbs that healed
Eye color
Fellow squad who knew them
Asking the sgt. who was in his squad, and who was missing after the battle.
Or going off of radio records..
But biggest of all...
D- N- A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess this mostly for veterans before the age of DNA testing, am i right?
+TankEpidemic No u really don't know ur history. The Tomb has remembrance of Army Personnel killed during war fare but we're beyond reconection. WwI, WWII, Korea
+dakotagau Some people got in without anyone knowing, some soldiers straight up had no family. There are tons of ways to end up unknown. It happens everyday.
It's a symbol, a soldier was picked at random and represents all who were lost. You get the most stupid fucking comment of the year award, instead of bitching do some research.
+dakotagau Do you understand how much it would take just to run the Gel electrophoresis on each DNA sample? and then compare it to every single DNA Sample in the US Armed Forces Database? It would take so much money, and so much time. even with a supercomputer that could run the Gel electronically, it would take a vastly long time and massive amounts of money even to fathom such a large DNA Sample Database. Then figure if the guy in the field who collected the DNA got the wrong DNA sample, or not enough. Then were talking thousands of dollars to run overnight PCR's on the DNA to replicate it enough to generate an adequate gel. although DNA is the best way of finding out who someone is, its not cheap, and its not fast. and usually, very finicky.
+MrPaddyR after the First World War every Country who fought decide to pay tribute to the 100s of service men and women who died but there remains were not found buy honoring an unknown Soldier.
The Unknown Soldiers in Washington DC and London were at selected at random from a group of dead soldiers that had served but were so grievously disfigured they could not be identified other than by what uniforms they wore. Granted that DNA evidence is capable of deciphering the identity there are reasons why such an action would not happen. The first being as a matter of respect not to disinter this person's body especially with the significance it represents, second being that the likelihood of any relatives ever being found would be so insignificant because the body was chosen at random, and third the entire point of the Unknown soldier is to provide an icon to which all American citizens without having to label the corpse and politicise the ideal of the monument.
eat a bomb to the face and see how many of the above listed remain!

I don't get why you had to title the video like you did. You make it sound
like the guard is in the wrong. This little punk ass kid needs to show
some fucking respect, that little shit.
+Tybahza_The_Brony Our gaurds are well disiplined, however they lose the rag when arseholes do not listen, it is rather hard to not hear loud marching behind you nor "make way for the queens gaurd"
+birdsonex It was meant to be a playful jab about how some of them act like total bad-asses in the street, running over and old man who didn't hear them walking, or just dragging their balls around acting like hot shit. I have total respect for the guards who don't even crack a smile though. I can't do that.
+Tybahza_The_Brony I don't really know about this specific case, but the queens guard are guarding against a potential threat to the monarch, and at times they have to yell. Rightly so
It's to show respect for our veterans and people we have lost defending our freedom.
Behind the Old Guard - Sentinels
The Sentinels at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier stand guard 24 hours a day year-round to protect those that gave everything in service of their nation.
I can't stand the way they march. They should march in the same way the
rest of us do. I think it would be more honorable to have the tomb guarded
by real soldiers. Taps on a military boot/shoe annoys me to no end..
+robpetry84 You guys do a great job. I love it in some of the videos the guard will yell at the people to be respectful. It must be tuff to hear some of the things people might say there.
+robpetry84 Ok, 1 they sound nothing like spurs not even a little. If they would like to go to spurs I don't mind. They sound like tap dance shoes. I still don't like the way they march. They should march in the same manner as the rest of the Army. That is just my opinion and doesn't take away from the respect I have for this Tomb. If it was my tomb I would want soldiers in Battle dress and marching as I did but again this is just opinion.
+Whats In a name First off, none of the following is meant to be sarcastic or demeaning, only informative. We march a certain way to keep a certain timing, that in our belief, serves to honor the Unknowns with the utmost respect. I understand your concern, but many of us are real Soldiers. Most of the NCO's have deployed while serving in other units, before coming to the Tomb. For most of the younger Soldiers, Fort Meyer is their first duty station.Q: Where do the Sentinels tradition of heel clicks originate? A When the 3rd Cavalry was on duty, the spurs on their boots made the iconic click that Tomb Guards now simulate. The 3rd Cavalry Regiment and the 16th Infantry Brigade were the first units to guard the Tomb, starting in 1926.As for honor guards of other branches having "taps" (we call them cheaters), I have no idea why they do it.
You're just too* stupid and lifeless. (See too*, Learn to spell dumbass before you insult people who are better than you)
Tomb of the Unknown Solider-Guard calls out crowd
This is part of the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider in DC. Toward the end, the crowd starts to get loud and the Sentinel calls them out.
Regardless, those who died serving should be honored. Soldiers don't pick the wars, politicians do. They join to give back, and yes if need be, to die.
+Lucas West Actually I have been reading Suetonius' The Twelve Caesars, a great book about the twelve Roman Caesars from Julius Caesar, through Augustus, Tiberius, Gaius (Caligula), Claudius, Nero, Galba, Otho, Vitellius, Vespasian, Titus and Domitian. Anyway, in either the book on Augustus, Suetonius talks about how to punish legions (for rebellion or other reasons), there was a practice called 'decimation', by which a random group of soldiers would be chosen (say by casting lots), and of this group, which would line up, every tenth man would be killed. They called the practice 'decimation'. Actually, I think the later Emperor Galba used it too.I always used to think 'decimate' meant to destroy or smash, etc, but supposedly it means to kill every tenth man. Or maybe both are correct ? Maybe you can use the one word, for both practices ?
+Patric Braun I served my time in the US Army to the best of my ability and this impresses me every time I see this. The discipline, honor, and respect they have and show is astounding.
