Steam Power and the Isle of Man TT - 'Speed Lives Here' with Esso Synergy Part 4
A special day with the Cayman GT4, celebrating the launch of new Esso Synergy fuels, as we're on the Isle of Man visiting the Motor Museum, driving a steam ...
Enjoying watching the videos so far, but if I could just make a suggestion
- After driving the steam-powered car, similar to when you drove the Mono,
you didn't really say too much about how the experience actually was. I
feel like you missed opportunities to give the viewer a better
understanding of what exactly was good or bad about the experience,
particularly, how each of the various aspects of the car performed. What
surprised you? What aspects made it so enjoyable? Personally, I like to
hear these things to gain a better understanding of what the experience was
actually like, after all, we're all here living the experience vicariously
through the videos. Offering this would just help to pass on that
experience better. I think it would also offer more respect to those that
provided you with the experience, having said a little more about it. Not
many people get to ride a mint 1907 car about, in the rain (someone will
have to clean it later), and presumably for free!
The steam-powered car looked to pull away really fast. Was it really that
quick? Did it surprise you? How were the brakes? Steering? Comfort?
Controls? Sound? I know it might not be practical to go into detail about
all these things, or sometimes even necessary, but covering the basics
would be something. Maybe I'm just looking at you as a bit of a fledgling
Clarkson though. ;) These videos remind me a bit of some of his early work
when he was just starting.
Cheers!
'We have to be sensible' Mr Sensible strikes again! Read Henry Catchpole's
article in Evo a few editions ago on his drive in the Aventador SV around
the Isle of Man in the rain and then reassess your driving!
