I think all automobile websites should reconfigure how they list options in
their models. It is too confusing you dont even know what is equipped with
what. If it is equipped with, you put it next to one another so when one
has the option the other doesnt, the one that has the option will show on
the bottom instead of being mixed all over inside.
more reliable than merc, but not as technologically advanced as merc. They
can probably be more advanced if they want it but I doubt if their pricing
will be as competitive. the adaptive cruise control on merc is BETTER than
the lexus one and so is handling. But when you take into account the price,
lexus thrash everything.
I beleive fully that Lexus is now the Asian Mercedes. There is no denying
that, They even created the worlds first 8speed auto. Thats pretty
impressive.
flame suit on but this doesn't compare to the new 7 series. If anyone
wastes their money on this under engineered over priced toyota well
congratulations for proving you have no taste.
This is my mum's friend's Lexus LS460L. I took the chance to make a video of the start-up process as I was looking at the car. Nice car I must say! It has such a ...
@form109 I have been in a 1996 LS400 and it is remains the smoothest riding
car I have ever been in. Smoother riding than a BMW 750li. The only
harshness you MIGHT feel is slight vibration through the floor. It just
glides. I love how when you push down on the gas pedal you hear the V8
singing quietly and you have such a catapulted feel like being on a jet
during takeoff. Though not as frighteningly quick feeling as a Porsche
Cayenne Turbo S obviously. That will make you grab on for dear life.
It's not standard here. Only Honda offers the door alarms and seatbelt
warnings. Some of them (eg. Toyota, Proton [a local car manufacturer],
Perodua [another local car manufacturer], Nissan) offer only door alarms.
MINI has the seatbelt warning sound. That's about it. BMWs, Mercs,
Lexus-es, Volvos, most of them have no door chimes and seatbelt warnings. I
guess Volvo only had it last time because of a safety feature last time.
@form109 Lexus are the kings in gauge clusters. The Mercedes W140 S-class
may have been more expensive and higher engineered than a Lexus LS400, but
it had more tech features which were holdovers from 1980s Mercedes tech,
such as the gauges, the radio head unit. The LS400 was so fresh.
@form109 They are excellent cars. I wanted to get an LS400, but oil changes
and maintenance costs led me to getting an ES300 (baby LS) instead. Not as
luxurious but better on gas an gives you a flavor of what the LS offers.
@form109 Much agreed, When you are in a Camry you feel nothing special, but
when you are in an ES300, you feel like you are in a scaled down LS400. It
is a car that is good to drive while wearing a dress shirt.
Some people find it irritating, but I actually find it kinda nice to have
the car go ding ding ding when you insert the key into the ignition and the
seatbelt chime goes on after you start the car.
@1bentley4ever it was a fantastic car in all aspects....nevermind the
claims that it's just a glorified camry...the two are worlds apart even
sharing the same architecture.
@1bentley4ever Lexus calls them Optitrons...i agree...best gauge
clusters,in recent times you see more manufactures copying this design but
Lexus was the Very First.
In Malaysia, do none of the cars have door chimes? because of all the cars
you have started, I noticed only the Volvo and your Honda had door alarms
and key chimes.
The future of Lexus will be great. Here are some technologies that every
Luxury company should think about: A. XEROX Copier and Printer built on top
of the center console. B. Computer Screen and Keyboard on Passenger Side.
C. Television and Internet Capabilities.
