Betty's Lunch at Jonathan's Restaurant at Gratz Park with Rick--NO RECIPE--
Rick and Betty have lunch at Jonathan's at Gratz Park in Lexington. Since the World Equestrian Games are being hosted in Lexington, Kentucky, from ...
@thesoapmaker1 The weather in Kentucky is very good overall. From May to
about October it is generally sunny and warm. In midsummer, the
temperatures get into the 90's, but in spring and fall they are in the
70's. It gets cold along about November, and we have snow occasionally, but
usually not a lot. After January the weather starts to warm up, and then we
get beautiful flowering trees and bulbs. If you like variety in weather,
you'd like Kentucky! --Betty :)
Wow - I think I'd love to try everything you both ate at this restaurant.
Those sandwiches both sounded and looked delicious, and the maple dressing
on the coleslaw sounds great. I would love to see you make mini corn
muffins someday - I bet Carter would like those. The pound cake with
blueberry ice cream especially caught my attention - what a great idea.
Have you made any pound cake videos yet Betty? Thanks so much for the trip
video, as always.
Greetings from the beautiful coast of Maine! Already, the leaves are
glorious, many shades of red, orange. The best are the "gold" leaves so
bright, you'd swear they glow in the dark! Been to Kentucky many times,
LOVE you folks so much; Spring in your state, nothing like it anywhere.
What a lovely southern belle you are!! Every time I see a vid from you ,I'm
reminded of the relaxed charm that comes naturally from you folks! Love you
too much!
I loved the field trip as always. It was really great! Thanks for bringing
us along. You really make all the field trips so enjoyable. You should be a
spokeswoman for many companies because you do a superb job of representing
companies and making the experience very enjoyable. Thank you again!! (I
look forward to your version of the recipes)-Ann
Hi Betty and Rick, Thank you both for the recipes and field trips. I enjoy
them so much. I live in Chicago and have traveled to Kentucky a few times.
I think that Kentucky is one of the most beautifulest states in this
country and the people are all so friendly. The two of you are great
ambassadors for the state.
@notnormalbuzz Thanks for your lovely comment, Ben! Most people don't know
a lot about Kentucky, but it actually has a lot of historic places and
nature sites to visit. It is also famous for so many things--like KFC,
Kentucky bourboun, and horse racing. More things to come! Love you, Ben.

@JimboJitsu Hi Jimbo! Thanks for the nice comment! I didn't taste the slaw,
but I can tell you that it is not traditional to kentucky. Jonathan is a
chef with some interesting ideas about putting a new twist on an old
familiar recipe. I'm glad you enjoyed the countryside! --Betty :)
@atouchofcountrysweet Hi! Thanks for your lovely comment! The camera we use
is a Canon PowerShot S5 IS (8.0 megapixels). We have had it for a long
time, so I'm not sure they still make that model, but we have been really
satisfied with it! --Betty :)
@karlalana Jowl is the jaw or cheek meat of a pig. It can be turned into
cracklings by rendering it into fat and squeezing the meat that is left
behind. It's like crispy, crunchy bacon--like bacon rinds you get in a
snack bag. --Betty :)
you look so happy, joyful and full of life in this video... i like that
horse ! thanks for sharing your passion of cooking with us Betty... how can
i order your recipi book ? please Pm me the link
I was down to work in Lexington for a couple of weeks about this time last
year, and it was nice to see it a little bit again. I enjoy your videos,
thanks for all the hard work you put into them.
@bettyskitchen Thanks Betty - I will search through your videos for your
previous pound cake recipe and will be eagerly awaiting the lemon variety
too. Lemon is one of my favorite flavors.
thanks Betty for showing me that restaurant, the countryside and other
places in your county/state. I'm always interested in what "far away"
places look like :) greetings from Poland!
I love your videos. The food at Jonathan's looks delicious. You and your
husband seem to have such a fun time making the videos. What a great way to
spend time together :-)
Oh lord, that lunch looks so good and the menu did too.I recently came
across my late great-aunt's burgoo recipe.I need to make it sometime.I've
not had it in over 35 years.
WOW Betty you sure do get around. What is the weather like in Kentuky all
year round. It looks pretty nice there in this video. It's my dream to move
to the states.
The food looks delicious!! Thank you for showing us a bit of the Lanscape
youre living. Its so beutiful. I wish you would show more on your
fieldtrips ; )
@Heathmah Hi! Thanks for your nice comment! Yes, I have a pound cake in
