This is bullshit when they thank God . Fuck God. You pricks that are running around thanking these guys for their service will never understand that these guys didn't think of God or country. From my experience , we do things like this not for God and country, but for duty and love of our comrades.that is what ties soldiers together. Anything else is secondary to helping our mates, as we say in Australia,or buddies as you say in America. We all know that the only winners are the military-industrial complex and their stooges in the congress and senate who profit from the deaths of young men. I hope Bush, Cheney and their corporate friends die painfully, and if Karma is real, they will.

For you Audie It's a very solemn ceremony & though the kid is cute as hell he should have been taken out of the room. As far as Col. Ballard is concerned as a former marine I have nothing but the utmost respect for our navy corpsmen. If I recall, out of the 27 MOH awarded for actions on Iwo Jima, I think 4 or 5 were given to navy corpsmen. I do know that Iwo flagraiser "Doc" Bradley was awarded a silver star. They are an amazing bunch as are army medics. But we marines love our navy corpsmen!

My father served multiple tours in Vietnam as a Green Beret & with MACV SOG (look it up Sherlock). So, I've known a number of the most heroic & highly decorated soldiers & WARRIORS In American history. And, without exception--> not a one of them would ever get on the Internet & brag about receiving non-V device Bronze Stars while calling two Commander and Chiefs (a Republican & Democrat).communists, non-Americans, etc, And about you personally refusing 2 Bronze Stars from Nixon, I CALL BULLSHIT!

I was a Marine Corps recruiter in San Diego from 1985-1989. Two quick stories. 1) My Battalion Commander in boot camp was LTC Bob Modrzjewski who earned the MoH in Vietnam in '67. Interestingly, by 1985 the Colonel had retired and was a high school ROTC instructor at Serra High School in San Diego. I was assigned to Serra High School as the canvassing recruiter and for 3 years had a semi-personal relationship with this American hero, rekindling memories of him inspecting me as a recruit Private

All I'm saying is, when the sworn enemy of the Free World hands out citations to our heroes, it's like adding salt to America's wounded dignity. It is certainly No Honor for an American Hero to accept praise and recognition from a despicable, Kenyan-born communist posing as a US President. Yes...our brave soldiers are indeed entitled to the highest honors and praise America has to offer. But Obama is disgrace.

We had the privilege and honor of meeting Clint today in Minot. He is a very humble man, and his first reaction was that he did not deserve this honor, but when he thought of his fallen soldiers, he had to accept it in honor of them. This man is certainly a legend. He was very brave to share his stories with so many people today, it must be so hard to relive that horrible day. And to have him reside right here in our state where legends are made, we applaud you Clint Romesha! Thank you!

All I'm saying is, when the sworn enemy of the free world starts handing out citations to our brave American Soldiers for their acts bravery on the battlefield, it's a bitch-slap to the faces of all Americans, especially to those have earned the highest combat honors. I personally refused to accept 2 Bronze Stars from the NWO communist, Richard M. Nixon, during my stint in the military.I did however,accept the third Bronze citation from my own Squadron Commander...a real American Patriot.

Great story about Ballard. I knew of a California Hiway Patrolman who once stopped Jimmy Doolittle on his 87th birthday! Doolittle signed a copy of his memoirs that he had in his car (he was giving them to friends at his birthday party reception that night) and gave it to the cop. He also took his Medal of Honor out of his pocket and let the cop hold it. Needless to say Jimmy didn't get a ticket! Thanks for the comment. Very heroic figure for his actions and for standing up there. It must be hard because all the medal of honor recipients think that they did nothing special which means mentally it is hard for them to accept something they don't think they deserve. NOT SAYING THIS IS HIS FAULT but if someone did die and I received this award I would not feel as if I deserved this medal (thats what Dakota Meyer said as well)

yes, god bless clint because he works in north dakota's oil fields, which i dont work in, but i do know, is not a pretty place. there is lots of drugs and not fun stuff. traffic west of highway 83 is absolutely nuts everywhere, including bismarck and minot. but i guess thats the price you have to pay for a state surplus and good economy.

Also, as a recruiter in San Diego, Art Jackson who received the Medal of Honor at Saipan, would come to my office on Sturday mornings and talk to my new recruits. At that time he was I guess 63-65 years old and was a remarkable man with a remarkable story. He did that (the office visit) on numerous occasions.

Just FYI Bradley was awarded the Navy Cross at Iwo, not the Silver Star. A friend of mine, HN3 Luis Fonseca received the Navy Cross as a Corpsman in Iraq in 2003. Google his citation. It is easy to find. Semper Fi
