Police Brutality at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino - Tampa, Florida - 11-19-2009

This police officer had no official reason to stop me. I was convicted 3-23-2010 of resisting arrest without violence by 5 white jurors and 1 black juror.

I'm curious how you got this video. I only had one altercation with the police at the Hard Rock of Tampa in my years of going there. I was arrested for trespassing because they put me in a cab and I got out of the cab to go to my car. I hired an attorney to fight the charge. My attorney subpoenaed the video of the incident and they refused to release it and then the charges were later dropped. They didn't want to release it because they knew they were in the wrong after reviewing it and I never seen the security guy in there again. I'm guessing they released the video to you because it shows you being guilty.

how did you get them to release the security video...something similar happen to me this past st patty day i got sent to the hospital with split forehead..4 stitches and i have no feeling in my left hand..ya i was drunk and talking shit but in no way resisting..i wanted to know why i was getting arrested and they charged me with resist officer-obstruct wo violence...and slammed me to the cement...i used to respect cops even after my last BS arrest for disorderly..no more man such BS, got an atto

I do have to say that the actions of the police officer were to standard. From the video, which is only identified by body language and actions taken, there is no telling what was said. With that, if this video was shown to the jury which I'm assuming it was, would've been consitant with a conviction of resisiting. Even if you did nothing wrong, or you may have been mistaken with someone else, your actions in this video are completely inappropriate, and it is apparent. Resisting, Not Brutality.

Yes you do have to show idea, plus this particular casino is on Native American land which means it is a sovereign nation with its own police force. Technically they could stop him and tell him to leave if he was walking around with a bad attitude that they didn't much care for and he would have to oblige. Whatever the case, security doesn't call the cops unless someone needs to be arrested. Usually for trespassing, or a type of assault. Otherwise security deals with it. Most of the time.

Poor baby. And I DO mean baby. Little do you realize that 1) You're not on the street. You're on private property which gives the management or any of its agents the authority to remove you for any reason. 2) You were being surveilled by about 2500 cameras, so you were not being stopped for "no official reason." They don't need one. 3) the person who stopped you is a trained Police Officer and not some plastic badge security guard. Your chance of winning an argument with him are about nil.

Responding to abcdefghi9573, I have written to US Attorney Mr. Eric Holder twice. I have yet to get a response. I have written to Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum and he said this is not his problem. I have personally talked to State Attorney Mark Ober. He is the one that made absolutely sure that I was convicted of something and he succeeded. I believe since I am filing charges against corrupt Judges in Lawton OK and conspiracy to commit murder against Senator McCaskill Missouri

The problem is that the race card is pulled in hundreds of situations just like this and in some towns and places cops and security have to give minorities "extra special treatment" to avoid lawsuits. I couldnt care less who is what color or race. But when do we say...thats it"we dont want to hear your stories anymore, your racial woes, slavery issues from 200 yrs ago and just be responsible for who you are. So...what are all of us going to do about this? It hurts every race of people.

This isn't police brutality, it's you resisting. If the police stop and ask for your ID and you have done nothing wrong, then why not just show them. Maybe they thought you were someone else? He was attempting to talk and you just walked away. He has every right to question you and confirm who you are. You mention a $20 theft charge? What's up with that? Maybe you are guilty and didn't want to get caught? Just search "police brutality" and you will see that your vid didn't show this.

But didn't u see him talking WHILE TRYING TO LEAVE and what did the office do KEPT PUTTING HIS ARM UP ON THE COUNTER AND NOT LETTING HIM LEAVE. He wanted an altercation with the man. He was looking for backup to take down the guy. The officer was starting trouble because he knew the man was already wild up. He should have walked behind him and let him leave the place. i commend you for not resisting violently. but i want to point out at one point in the video you did forcibly remove the officer's hand from your throat. while that may have been a self defense act completely validated by your mind, if someone wanted to be nit-picky that was assaulting an officer and everything that happened there after was completely justified. not saying what happened was right. its just my take on the situation.

No police brutality in this video, seems to me that the man did not know how to keeps his attitude and hands to himself. Didn't see a choke either, the officer merely putting his hand on his throat to hold him momentarily is not a choke. Then he obviously escalates the situation himself resulting numerous officers getting involved. Just like the song says' You gotta know when to fold em"
