sounds like the pump is whining. i sucked up water in mine a few years back
and it made a similar noise. it would kick in and out of gear. the trans
was trashed. had it rebuilt at the stealership. state farm payed for it.
you should be able to find a good replacement for it for a couple hundred
bucks.

Not good news. I had to have the transmission rebuilt. Total cost was about
$1200. I hear I made out ok at that price. My Jeep has been running great
now for about a year and a half after the transmission rebuild. I pull a
small jon boat with no problem.

what was the problem? bad torque converter?
