She could have answered the question with no problem, she might have other
personal reasons. Maybe her boss voted for that party or whatever.Everybody
agrees that current government is more islamist oriented but having said
that even they would never give up on their alcohol. They all drink and one
moron politician had said women should behave in public not to laugh too
loud, that was his opinion and a silly one everyone thought he was an
idiot, he was also ridiculed even by his own party. There are morons in
each party. In United States some republican politicians blame rape
victims, they said it was their fault being raped because they wore skimpy
outfit and drank booze
i am not saying the turkey is the beacon of freedom and liberty but what
you can see here is the irrational paranoia amongst turkish left-wing
liberals. there are a lot of tv programs, even tv channels,in which the
goverment is massively criticized, there are a lot of columnists who
strictly opposes and even denounces the goverment in daily basis, which
includes claims like "those islamist fascist dictators are trying to ban
alcohol" but yet nothing happens to them. not even sued actually. her
reaction is an exaggeration
+Ercan Erberk ercan my friend, like you said she is trying to be politically correct; and she says "i do not feel comfortable ". why would someone feels uncomfortable while she is trying to be politically correct ? the undeniable answer is "she afraids of the government". what i wanted to explain in my first comment is that this fear is irrational. so there is no inconsistency in my words
+Copernicus She says Turkey has been politicized in the beginning of her conversation and responds to Anthony's first question as genuine act and then he questions her in such a way that makes her doubt herself and she gets confused with what to answer. She is trying to be politically correct! Selling and use of alcohol is regulated by Turkish laws so your frustration with left-wing liberals doesn't match up with your argument. No one should be sued for favoring use of alcohol. It's just another choice of sold good in a democratic country, isn't it?Like tobacco, sugar or flour which are said to cause damage to your body health.
+spencer42436 Constantinople was 340 times smaller than todays "Istanbul" which by the way is another Greek name for the same city. Greek language is fine, but that "Constantine" is not a saint. We would not name a city after him.
