LOL. Your to most butt-hurt little boy I've seen on YT. It's great. Again
your not a true enthusiast and you've proven it again. To note the 4door
Sedan's are hardly slower and with a stock K04 turbo a low 13 high 12 is
easily achievable with bolt-on's and a tune. Doesn't matter what year Civic
you got... Everyone laughs at them now. Sad to see irresponsible Civic
owners completely ruin the reputation they should have. Let me know when a
stock Civic gets close to beating a Cobalt SS at anything.
Fuck that shit. Cobalts are girly economy cars bro. 3 out of every 4 cobalt
drivers are female, and the 1 out of 4 that are male either have a dick
hanging out of their mouth while driving around or they put matte black
paint and spray painted rims on it to make it look "tight". fuck Saturn and
fuck Chrysler too. If you want a budget 4 cyl RWD then get the miata or the
silvia. Fuck, I almost bought a miata for 1300 bucks. when you quit playing
with those little boy toys you call cars hit me up.
You can say what you'd like... You drive a boosted Civic... I bet torque is
amazing... ROFL Before you keep running that mouth of your's tell me how a
Cobalt SS does on the track? I'll leave some quick stats for you... Stock
Cobalt SS on Nürburgring Nordschleife which is the best comparable pinnacle
of performance in both straight line and handling of a track ran just under
a 8:23. Tell me how that's a "gay" car... Beating out many other far
"higher class" cars and it's a easily modded car...
the only 4 door car that will ever beat me is the sti or the evo. anyone
who buys a 4 door, front wheel drive turbocharged car is in for a load of
trouble and really has their priorities wrong. you either get the 2 door,
and it will be sporty, or you get the 4 door non SS, to be a family car. it
cant be both. sorry, it just can't be done. now stop being a bitch. I've
worked on more cars than you have ever seen in your pathetic miserable
life. the fact that you insult me shows your insecurity.
When you get done with your ignorant cunt bullshit let us know... your
statistics are horrible and not even statistics but rather you trying to
swing that twig you call a dick. Miata.... God I hope your dick fell off
before making that statement because your vagina stinks bad from here.
Silvia not bad not cheap usually. Little boy toys... lulz Ill let you know
when I get tired of these "little boy toys," you must know a lot about
little boys but obviously are a ignorant dumb cunt with cars.
Just like the mustang, the cobalt has become a gay car, and here is why:
there are SOOO many base trim mustangs (V6) that when you actually see a GT
mustang it doesn't phase you because you've seen so many mustangs already.
The same goes for the cobalt, except its even worse. There are SOOO many LS
and LT cobalts out there, AS WELL AS THE 4 DOOR, that when you finally do
see a cobalt SS 2 door, it just doesnt matter anymore. Yeah it may be
quick, no disputing that. But it is still GAY.
Your the most redundant idiot I've ever met... Luckily not in person.. So
there arn't like 50 different Civics? and 4 models? and made since what
1973? ROFL... Civic's are a joke at this point and heavily outdated. Your
reasoning for something having a sexual orientation are lack-luster and
your digging a deeper hole than needed at this point. BTW SS models arn't
just 2 doors... have a little knowledge before bullshitting... Your not a
real car enthusiast and that's what it comes to.
How can anyone watch this and not get the chills, from the beautiful sound
that only American Muscle can produce ? Is this a small block basis from
which you turn this so tight? Back in the mid 60's, we would turn up the
292 and 301 Chevy's near this range to get our cars moving. Then it was
weight per cubic inch. Any info will be appreciated. I would enjoy seeing
this run, very much. This is a fantastic car, that hooks hard, goes
straight and has a stick. A winner in all respects.
Number one. Neither this cobalt, or the 12,000 rpm nova, turn 12,000.
Number two, we have to run a certain weight, and certain C.I.D. The stroke
is a better place to lose cubes then the bore. Number three, the more RPM's
you turn, all things being set up that way, the bigger the engine thinks it
is. Number four, our motors peak between 9,100, and 9,600. We take them 4
to 6 hundred past peak. So 10,4000 is the max we personally turn. Hope that
helps.
say what you want about the miata, but real racing drivers know that when
it comes to handling it doesnt get much more crisp or controlled than the
miata. ever hear the expression "it handles like its on rails"? yeah. thats
miata territory my boy. and i dont fuck with shitty american bull shit
ecoboxes like the cobalt. my civic is boosted and produces big horsepower
numbers, and my dick produces big inches. fuck you and your dumb brobalt.
@jkonn7 is a late bloomer. The video owner already updated us on that part.
Read all the comments before trying to be a cunt and seem cool by acting
smarter than others on youtube. You make yourself seem like an underage
blowjob how never shuts the fuck up when he should. No one wants your 2
fuckin cent's NO ONE!!! So shut the fuck up and only add to comments rather
than ruin a community with your fucktard responses.
Went once to KCIR in Oct. Fridat night went 9.34 at 148, first round of
qualifing Sat. morning, broke a lifter on the line. End of the day for us
And fri. night, the track was horrible, 1.33 60 when we normally run 1.27
or 1.28. We feel we could have ran 9.24 Sat.at 149 but will have to wait
till next year. Will get some new vids later, and we now have three motors,
so we have a back-up. All in SS\DM
Why the hell in gods name will you want to decrease the stroke just to gain
1000rpm lmao. You humans are really disappointing. Only reason to keep up
at those rpms is pure gearing timing. The power produced at those speeds is
not much past 8000 there will never be enough air or fuel at a time to
utilize 12000 lol Just curious what dynamic compression ratios are you guys
achieving???
Solstice lolz.... ish. I have the SS cobalt and a Redline. Both easy
12-13sec cars. I prefer hitting track over the strip. Prefer the Cobalt but
paying less for same performance is genius. Solstice are way "gayer" as you
say. I don't think you've driven one have you.. lol its bad. RWD on a
budget 4cyl I'd choose is a Mitsubishi Starion/Chrysler Conquest.
@1hemiluver We have a few different engines we run ranging from 290s up to
about 320. And you would guess correctly about the gear ratio. We normally
just run around Iowa and Missouri, but might do a something farther out
once in a while. Just depends on what the schedule is like. Hollar if you
are ever in the area, and glad you like the car.
Without giving too much away, what is the cu. in. of this? I would guess
that the gear ratio is in the 5 plus range. We used 5:38 in a 55 C/G
injected car, that was turning pretty tight at the 1/4. Do you ever run the
car outside your general area? I am in the NW, but would enjoy watching
your car very much. Good to hear from you.
I own that track now, and is closed, not from safety issues, but others.
I've raced there since 71, and never seen a driver so much as break a
fingernail. Go figure. And steve bridger has been 4.92 at 142 mph. You know
what they say, if no one is making you go, don't get your panties pulled
tight in the crack of your ass.
The comments below ,other than the owner , are textbook dumbass. If any of
you clueless idiots understood drag racing , let alone even driven anything
close I'd be surprised. These are called conversion cars built to take
advantage of class rules. They are very popular. Now go play with your
Mustangs.
That motor is a 289 C.I. small block, with unported brodix spec heads, BME
pistons, Groden rods, knifedged crank, G-Force clutch assisted 5 speed, 592
HP. Now, we have a dart-buick 286, bryant crank, 55 MM cam, bowtie block,
hogans manifold, 2 fours, and clutchless G-Force. Thanks for asking.
From listening and watching the car, this is what I was guessing. Sure
would enjoy seeing this masterpiece, without the hood on? Maybe, you can
also have a camera in car view, this will be welcomed. If I come to your
area, I will definitely come by. Appreciate your time and info.
Yeah dickhead, the 4 door SS models are even slower and more fucked up. I'm
talking about MY generation of civic. Most civics you see are more recent.
It's not often you see civcs dated before 1996. Mine is a 5th gen civic.
Now go fuck yourself and cry to your bitch mommy.
@jkonn7 Your a moron huh? slowbalt, you own a car faster than this? Any car
can be modded to be fast. ANY. Shit your retarded Eclipse prob runs 16's+
when it does run. Shits all duct-taped together. Fuckin Ricer. I'd check
for a simple Vacuum leak with your misfiring shit.
@ROWB0AT I didn't know the 4cyl motor or front wheel drive made a Cobalt a
Cobalt, because what keeps it from being a cavalier then...oh yeah, the
body. We left that mostly stock. So go ahead Sorensen, use your shell to
build a Cobalt with a bad ass motor and RWD.
Insecurity? like coming in here and commenting on year old posts? Yeah,
best way to get the last word in lol. Looks like this one backfired. Looks
like bratboy90 is the resident troll-hunter. Keep up the good work :)
@p0pe1991 More than likely that is correct then. Both videos were from the
same weekend, but only 5101cobalt or Randy would know for sure. They have a
few different motors that they run in this car.
@alexhc09 Yeah, switching to mechanical wasn't going to save enough weight
to even mess with. Not to mention how nice it is hitting a switch instead
of a crank when you are in a 5 point harness.
I have a question for anybody out there, I want to put a clutch in my
car(3800 lbs trans am that I still drive on the street with a 468 big block
chevy) what would be the best tranny to go with?
@1hemiluver Thanks for the good review. It is just like you thought, a
short stroke small block that builds it's power way up high. It is setup
for headsup #/ci racing. Ya know, real racing :)
So because I own an LT and only fill the tank once every 2 weeks, you think
I'm gay? Oh no, I better start caring what some little backwoods redneck
homophobe cares about what car I drive LOL
no matter what it is, it's still a Saturn, the brand GM created to produce
cheap cars to sell to Americans on a budget. At least get the Solstice so
you dont look like a POS faggot
High Revving Cobalt vs Nova Heads Up Drag Race
11000 RPM Cobalt running heads up with 289 ci small block chevy.
i think it is still for sale. show us how its done.any track where some
participants and want to be participants and wish they were want to be
participants try to participate but see they are too mentally challenged to
figure how to be competetive, there will be relief when they close the
sandbox because you feel inferior with your tonka toys.go figure. i am damn
glad it closed. if you cant be competitive under those simple rules, i
would advise you take up cat videos or bracket racing.
I think you are trying to though. And by the way...the track is still for
sale. Care to give some details on how it was run so horrible? I am pretty
sure that all of the problems of the past have been addressed and shown why
certain changes were made. If you are just wanting to complain, or maybe
hurt because you weren't happy about how it ended then that is fine.
@ericspda the rear quarters are the original but stretched for the tires
and the hood is carbon fiber. The rest of the body is original. I have a
video of a walk around and you can see that it has the original door panels
(notched for the cage) and dash (which has been gutted) AND POWER WINDOWS.
I'm sure there's more but that's just off the top of my head.
Damn there are some clueless people on here.....don't voice your opinion if
you can't make an intellectually sound comment. That being said,
bowtieighth said this was 289ci with a single 4 barrel....so I am assuming
the car runs either SS/CS or SS/DS right? Who built the engine? Jeff
Taylor? Todd Patterson? Rick Watters?
i remember one night it did not blow up, and ruined more lives and dreams
than the haiti earthquake at least our competitor had the balls to race,
not a paralyzing fear of loosing that kept him from taking a chance. we
both won some and lost some and the sun came up the next morning for us all.
what the fuck? rear wheel drive cobalt?? i hav seen midship integra n now
this?? whats next? front wheel drive ferarri and a electric motor driving
the rear wheel making it a hy ...oh shit...hybrid 4wd ferrari!! fuck i need
to go back to sleep
It wasn't built for show. It was built to go, which it does quite well. And
yeah, we had the expected bugs to work out the first year. We also got the
IHRA World Record our first year, so I think we could agree the bugs are
worked out.
@ bowtie, don't know where you guys are located but were having a stick
shift national @ edgewater raceway park in cincinnati oct 19, look up umtr
for more details, love to have you!
@bowtieighth both of those cars play the pretiest music i have ever heard.
they give me chicken skin just hearing them on you tube, would love to hear
them at pageland dragway s.c.
@ddfh01 Yeah, it's a low to mid 9 car in the 1/4, and the front end does
lift, the wheelie bars are just really low on that run. Not much room to
raise them actually lol
Im not chicken and i know steve well enough. i went to look at he cobalt
last summer and he told me to get the hell out of there. That was it for
me. You all just keep smiling because behind that shit eating grin you
yourself no the truth! The only prob i have is that everytime the cobalt
wanted to change something, the damn rules changed accordingly and thats
bs. Don't say it didn't happen either, why the hell do you think you hardly
had any cars! Everyone gets sick of rules changing every wk.
i would also like to say that alot of good racers didn't come back because
of constant rule changes. Steve Bridger, Randy Owen, Ricky Parrot, The
Holley brothers, Steve Rivera, Steve Hughs, Kurt Maddox, These to name a
few. No wonder the car count was so low. You know also you assholes put
down the VanMeters too which are close friends of mine. They have been at
the fucking track since 1966. Show a little respect. There every week
regaurdless of all the bullshit and you still put them down!
the whole rules thing is simple. MAKE THEM AND LEAVE THEM ALONE! One that
comes to mind to me is in the C classes, 2 yrs ago the rules stated 2x3
tube from firewall back with front suspension remaining in stock form with
the acception of a few minor details. Then, once the cobalt was built you
change them to super stock legal front end. I cant afford this kind of
stuff anyway, but the people who could already had cars built and then the
rules change. I can name several more also!
My memory is just fine. The first year the track reopened Monte ran in a
different class then I did. And I won the shootout in the black vega. The
next year I won the shootout in the Thunderstruck car over Jerry Van Meter.
The next year I broke the rearend in class and did not even run the
shootout and Monte won that year. The next year I got 2nd place to Johnnie
Munn. The next shootout I won in Dean Capps Vega over Jeremy Van Meter. And
last year I won in the Cobalt
Why can't you state any facts? Did you ever attempt to protest? Did
anybody? I didn't think so. By the way. The track is for sale if you want
to give the track a new owner, and the Cobalt will still win. If you are
going to keep bringing up the cheating with nothing to back it up then i am
going to start deleting these posts. Steve has won 4 of the last 6 big
shootouts and has never been caught cheating. You really believe he got
away with something that long?
This is it for me, I think I'm done. It too bad the track is closed because
i really enjoyed it even though my car was slow, STEVE! I do have a new car
now that I'm slowy working on as I can afford it. Sad as it is, guess i
will have to bracket race. We all know that its closed because you are sick
of the so called bitching from everybody. Had you known how to run a track,
it would still be open and have a good car count. That being said, I'm done
talking.
If any one would have put the money up to protest I would have gladly
proved all your accusations false! And your right because Randy owns the
track and Iwas on the tech comittee we felt we had to be more legal than
anybody there. And we were! The only reason for having protest fees is so
if you feel you are being cheated you can find out. Its not personal I
would have been flattered. Its to bad all these came to this but you guys
started it!
Randy was the low Quaifier the first year and I was the low qualifer every
year after that except for the year that Steve Bridger wrecked his car he
was the low qualifier but did not run the shootout and this year Monte was
the low qualifier. Mostly with a pair of Iron heads and a clutch assisted
trans. We had the quickest et & mph every year in the 10&11 lb class
what rules were changed? when we opened it up to any cylinder head nobody
came. So we thought that if we limited the money that you would have to
spend on cylinder heads [spec heads] that it would be more affordable and
closer racing than before and I think if everybody that has race cars would
have tried it it would have worked. But I don't know what the fix is.
actually i know its not legal. to be a true ss/cs car the rules state the
front suspension must retain stock lower a arms as they came from the
factory. Really not sure how the cobalt passes tech with aftermarket a
arms, oh well, whats new! Also the true ss/cs record, which is nhra, not
ihra, is held by david bogner, 92 dodge daytona. 5.94 @ 115.27 mph.
it a plymouth stupid! my stuff isnt fast and i dont claim it is. alteast it
was mine and not some millionaire hand me down. As far as monte, atleast
he's a straight shooter and not a bullshitter. you drove clutchless all
year but yet got the weight break for clutch assist. Knowing you cheated
all year feels pretty good dont it!
kind of hard to protest the car that belongs to the track owner there
mitch! Losing? Its better to be legal and lose then to cheat and win. No
one is bitching either, just stating facts! Its awful funny that you and
Monte only actually raced twice all year. every time it came up, the cobalt
was mysteriously broke. Imagine that!
easy answer, you hit him. By the way, like I'v said 100 times, we all know
the truth steve. you wouldn't be getting so pissed if it wasn't true. All
you guys just think we are idiots and dont pick up on things. This can go
on forever and i really dont give a shit cause i know im right!
As far as your trans, i know its a face plate and they wont pop out of gear
like a clutchless. I also know, though not recommended, they can be shifted
clutchless, and thats what you were doing. That bein said, if you get the
150 lb clutch assist wt break, you better be clutching!
Oh quit making excuses. IHRA sure didn't have any problems with his tranny.
It is easy to bitch when you are too ignorant to be proven wrong Really? I
am afraid it was more than that. Monte was the first car for the Cobalt to
line up against. You wanna guess who won? Imagine that!
you turned in to the side of him stupid. Of course you know it all steve.
The only people that agree with you is your little circle of, what, 3
friends, LOL. I guess if I had somone just handing me money to spend and a
car to drive i could be as cocky as you. YOU'RE MY HERO!
Alright Steve, I guess i just thought i was done! There is no way them
heads come right off the cobalt. They had rust in ports, I was there. You
know as well as i do that bullshit just all of it. You definately cant pull
any wool over Monte's eyes!
Straight from the Monte Baker school of Bitching When You Lose: When you
get a response that ends your argument, start a new one. Are you guys ever
going to say why you never protested this cheating you say went on all year?
well after reading all of your heart felt comments, i must admit that its
only cheating if you get caught. however when you own the track and run the
tech comittee its amazing how anything can be considered legal.
I'm not just talking about you winning steve. I'm talking about your
arrogant attitude. Your little group looks down on us poor bastards! I'v
tried to talk to you in the past but you're too damn good for me.
You didnt look at anyone else's because you knew you already had better
shit and hoped if you didnt look at others they wouldn't look at yours.
This is aint rocket science, but you just think were all blind!
I never said i won a popularity contest. I come from a a poor family and i
dont have much now. I dont think i want in your click anyway, you get a
little money and a high dollar car and think your king kong.
I know I'm just beating a dead horse here anyway, but we all know the truth
about everything we have discussed. You guys just go on with your cheating
ways and sooner or later it will come back to haunt ya.
it was easy to tell they had been sitting a while! Thats all i was saying
but im just wasting my time cause you have another fucking lie for
everything i say instead of just admitting the truth!
Well how come your car got to stay in the pits? Everyone else had to be on
the track! Plus, no one outside your little bullshit group could be around
the car. Gee, now sounds fair dont it!
Im on a roll so why stop now. this is for steve. in response to me hitting
the guard rail, you aint much better. Have you hit any lil stinker camaro's
on the shut down lately?
i believe i have said this before . 200 lbs heavier, smaller cubic inches,
and racing a cheater! Gee, i wonder why the cobalt won.
2007 Chevy Cobalt HIghway Pull
Only has CAI in this video. Not "fast", I know. But as you can tell by my RPM's I'm letting off the gas periodically and swerving in between other cars lol. Enjoy.
@belizetj Yeah im not trying to mess with all that! Haha All i need is
wheels, lowering springs, and the SS front/rear bumper and side skirts and
I'll be done with cosmetic. Then i can start on the TC or SC stuff.
@belizetj Yeah im not trying to mess with all that! Haha All i need is
wheels, lowering springs, and the SS front/rear bumper and side skirts and
I'll be done with cosmetic. Then i can start on the turbo.
@belizetj Yeah im not trying to mess with all that! Haha All i need is

Pretty quick for a 2.2 Cobalt sedan. Thats an LS right? One of my friends
used to have an LT coupe manual. It was pretty quick too. I have 2 vids of
it. In one of them he does like 120 mph.
@Stone23Ian Why dont u just trade it in on an SS/TC? lol
9500 rpm turbo cobalt
built motor, but running on 3 good cylinders (190190145190 compression), rev limiter's decided not to work (2 of them). still made 438 whp on a hair under 19 ...
Man, that's kinda interesting that they would not build a stronger block,
or take into account their block engineering to be able to hold more. I
know it's apples to oranges, but I was just comparing it to my car (Scion
tC which is N/A from the factory of course), which have been holding well
over that without sleeves. There's even a race team that's holding 1000+bhp
on stock sleeves. Average guy put down 662whp/600wtq on a non-sleeved block.
unfortunately it wasn't sleeved, which is why it blew up @550whp @27psi.
But it had pauter billet rods, diamond pistons, balanced rotating assembly,
knife edged the block, CNC ported race head, Ti retainers, 78lb valve
springs, and custom cams, nuetral balance shafts, and a bunch of other
little things to make it survive 9500 rpm
had a stuck injector a few weeks back, compression was actually slowly
coming back it was down to 80 psi in that cylinder was at 145 psi when this
vid was taken. As for the limiters, I'm still trying to figure that one out
I would have figured the block (being they are already boosted from the
factory) would have held more than 550whp without sleeves. I reckon that's
not to bad though.
March 5th, 2008. The new 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Turbo doing a bit of drag racing. The Launch Control mode tops RPM at 5100, then prevents wheels from ...
i got one of the 08 turbo cobalts but cant find a BOV anywhere. Where'd you
find the one you put on this car? Most places just tell me that they
haven't done testing for this car yet. And I've been messing around with
starts in the launch control vs. regular but are you saying that having the
launch control one enables the boost pressure feature?
i just bought an 08 ss on sept. 19 and it does have one it doesnt sound
when using the no lift shift because your never closing your throttle body.
if you are in gear but not to high rpm's push the gas til the whistle of
the turbo gets pretty loud then let of the gas and you should hear it.
if i were to buy an 08 cobalt ss turbo..and put a blow off valve on it
would the blow off valve only work when i left off the clutch or will it
still sound when you use the no lift shift and hammer the gas all the way?
thanks
or if you want to hear it loud floor it and shift regularly instead of the
no lift shift. when i done that to hear it mine sounded like a sharp squeak
when i first got it but now it sounds like the normal release.
It has a blow off valve. You just don't hear it on this run, but it's
definitely there, and you hear it every time you shift, as long as the RPM
is high enough.
the BOV recuriclates into the intake path. its verry quiet.
Chevy Cobalt Exhaust
Lsj Manifold, Lsj Downpipe, 2.5 Catback on my 2.2 Auto Cobalt. Not to much louder then my old setup, but it dose sound deeper. At higher rpms it sounds nice, ...
