+Derrick S Tran But the ak is old as well. 70+ years old. Today's 1911 isn't 100 years old. It's not even 40yrs old. It kept up with tech and is better than the 1911's of 40 and less years ago. All this is really about, for the most part, is preference and the rest is glock's marketing practices.

+Derrick S Tran AKs are cheap, shitty rifles. They build them to be cheap and shitty because it keeps costs down. They do not hold a candle to the M16 or M14. The AK is the most widely used rifle in modern military forces because as I stated it can be produced at incredibly low cost on machines that can turn out lots of them quickly. The M16 platform and M14 platforms are better. More accurate and better rounds.

+Derrick S Tran What does the Marines not using the M4 have to do with anything? Their standard issue is the M16A4. That doesn't mean you'll never see a Marine holding an M4. And as far as I can find, the US Marine Corps still issues the Beretta M9 as the standard sidearm. I believe their specialized MEU people were the ones who bought the Colt M45A1 CQB pistols.

+Mike P as for the 1911 it's the same reason the marine corps doesn't mainly use the m4. marines are riflemen and they will choose the more accurate rifle every time, same with the 1911 this coming from my friend in the marines

+Mike P ak's aren't cheap or shitty rifles. saiga, norinco etc ak's are great guns.and why if this gun is so Shitty. is it the most widely used assault rifle? .223 isn't really an smg round. it is a rifle round. just not as effective as 7.62. I agree they were supposed to be made cheap and given to be used on the front lines but saying ak's in general are all Shit is just idiotic

+Derrick S Tran So when are you going to stop getting your talking points from James Yeager? I like the 1911 cause it works for me. I never said Glocks suck. I mean, they're great if you like a grip angle more like a revolver, and you don't mind 1/2" of trigger creep. But funny how Glock guys can never provide proof that 1911s are unreliable other than "go to x tactical course and see for yourself." Seen plenty of Glocks fail at competitions. Seen plenty of 1911s fail too. It's a machine and will fail at some point. Nothing says Glock will make it longer than 1911 or a 1911 will make it longer than a Glock.

+Mike P​ only because people like you have invested too much of their ego to let it go and embrace the new technology. Yes in this case it won. You keep trying to look past the fact that the 1911 lost by bringing up irrelevant facts to the matter at hand. In this case the Glock won the reliability test, the 1911 lost. It's that simple quit trying to justify the crappy gun by bringing up "oh it's 100 Years old" theirs still lever action Winchesters around. They did phenomenal in their time. But they're still not as good as an ak or ar.
