+Taylor Shelton lol its all good. Just keep eating healthy and try to stay away from fast food. Work out an hour a day and push yourself to your limit, but not over it that you pass out, you sould loose more weight and gain some muscle, P.S dont forget to eat protien, helps alot.
+hokage1997 it's okay but I'm sorry I guess that's rude what I said. I just get so frustrated because I have a stupid diet and have to work my butt off just so i lose 1 pound a week. I'm not severely overweight but It won't get off my body and I'm only 14 :(

I don't get it. You guys are sleeping on the ground? So there are no snakes
and spiders right? I'm from Brazil so I'm used to things trying to kill me
on the ground at night when I go camping.
+canaldopulgah correct, no snakes or spiders in the winter time, in other months there are ticks , snakes and spiders, but really the only worry is ticks and other bugs that bite.
Probably my 10th time watching this and I still find myself learning new
things every time. Question I have is which type of wood do you find to
curl the best and which type of wood is good for burning?
+Drew Sanders I like hardwoods for both, Red Oak being my favorite. Ash, Maple, Cherry, Elm, all extremely good woods for burning, but Red Oak has a very straight grain wcich makes it easy to split, and make curls.
If you gents had any sense about you, you'd consider doing more reviews.
Specifically, might I suggest branching out into the world of distilled
spirits? Based solely from a bushcraft perspective of course, you could
test out a case of Sailor J. to start off; the possibilities thereafter are
endless. ;)
I've seen a photo of this making its rounds lately. Thought I'd try it out last night. Worked well enough, burned for over 14 hours and weathered a downpour of 1 ...
+Bob Hansler Indeed. Premium firewood to be sure (and makes you feel a little tougher with how easy it is to split lol). Up here we like to use diamond willow, maple or alder to smoke meat.
Great idea, and a lot more successful that I thought... but what's the
purpose of it besides "it looked like it might be fun to try"? Although, as
a communal campfire for numerous campers, it would make a great 'common
area' to gather around.
+Brisdad53 Sometimes as humans we do things just because we can. 1000 people reach the summit of Everest each year dumping tens of thousands of dollars each to do something that has become rather common and arguable grants no benefit to health or humanity. I had seen the threads bickering back and forth over this concept, and have a forest of trees dead and toppled that fit the bill for the project. I did it because I could, and for curiosity sake.
+Pilot Animal The ten year drought killed the makoirty of large trees across my property. The rains have returned for the past 2 years, but the trees had already died and have been falling steadily ever since. Just walked around choosing those that were the straightest. Most of the bark had fallen off before they had fallen.
When you design a new thing. After testing that it works the first thing
engineers do is to test how it can go wrong/break. So my question is to you
Bob: Under what conditions does the whole structure catch on fire? Could
this happen while campers are asleep? I.e. does it take awhile? I would
imagine that it has more to do with the amount of heat/size of the original
fire but also and maybe more importantly the amount and direction of
airflow.
+Capt J The aim of this trial was not to see if this type of setup was viable... but to see if it was even possible. I'm putting this on the list of things that are possible, but have very little real application in reality. Much like sending an ostrich to space, could we do it? yes... but there is little if any point to the exercise. To answer your question, almost every variable mentioned must be met within a fairly narrow set of conditions. This fire is a curiosity, a conversation piece, a novelty... but not very reliable, effective, efficient... or overly useful. A showmanship piece. Still had a blast trying it out and putting a burning question to rest for myself. Cheers.
