It's all a lie, and no matter how much someone hates Japan, it will always
be a lie.
There are growing, unsubstantiated questions about whether the Japanese
Imperial Army kidnapped 200,000 sex-slaves (Comfort Women) in World War II.
Mostly from Korea.
A $30 million US Government Study specifically searched for evidence on
Comfort Women allegations.
After nearly seven years with many dozens of staff pouring through US
archives -- and 30 million dollars down the drain -- we found a grand total
of nothing.
The final IWG report to Congress was issued in 2007.

U.S. President Obama has called Japan's wartime program of sexual slavery a
terrible and egregious violation of human rights, which has ruffled
feathers in the Japanese media.
Park Ji-won tells us more.
"It was a terrible, egregious violation of human rights. I think Prime
Minister Abe recognizes the past is something that has to be recognized
honestly."
It is the first time that a U.S. President has officially and directly
criticized Japan's wartime program of sex slavery.
The remarks, made during a press conference in Korea on Friday, sent a
shockwave through Japan.
U.S. President Obama has called Japan's wartime program of sexual slavery a
terrible and egregious violation of human rights, which has ruffled
feathers in the Japanese media.
Not a worse human right violation than dropping the first and only atomic
bombs in human history on civilians killing 250,000 innocent people. Go
home Obama

Obama: Japan's comfort women past an 'egregious violation of human rights'
US President Barack Obama has urged Japan to face up to its wartime history, saying the Japanese military's use of comfort women during World War Two was ...
To be fair there were Japanese comfort women providing sexsual
services exclusively to the soldiers of the occupation forces to provide
their families or enjoy better living in the post war period. This was a
project totally goverment-backed in an effort to stop cases of raping the
Japanese women by the US-led allied forces . Those professional women were
treated in the same way as the "Korean comfort women". Let's face it.

The UN Human Rights Committee has begun a regular, two-day examination of
Japan's human rights record.
According to Japan's Kyodo News Agency, 18 legal experts from the United
Nations body are looking at a number of issues... dating back to the
Japanese military's forced sexual enslavement of women during World War II.
They'll also examine more current issues, including Japanese nationalist
groups that hold regular demonstrations against ethnic Koreans and
immigrants,... and the state's use of capital punishment.
The committee requires states that have ratified the International Covenant
on Civil and Political Rights to submit reports on their human rights
record every five years.
At the end of the month the committee will advise Japan on areas where
improvements are needed.

The World Health Organization is convening an emergency summit to determine
whether the latest outbreak of Ebola has become an international health
crisis.
With more, we now turn to Paul Yi at the News Center.
Paul, this fatal disease has already claimed the lives of some 900 people
in West Africa
And concerns are growing... the virus may spread to other parts of the
world.
That's right. Health experts around the world are putting their heads
together to get the Ebola outbreak under control.
Officials from the W-H-O say this emergency meeting in Geneva is aimed at
quelling fears and introducing concrete measures to tackle the epidemic.
But already we're seeing countries... such as Korea... stepping up
monitoring of its citizens abroad for possible infections,... while Spain
announced on this Wednesday that it was repatriating a missionary who
tested positive for the disease in Liberia.
Our Kim Min-ji reports.
The World Health Organization is set to discuss whether to designate this
latest Ebola outbreak.... as a public health emergency of INTERNATIONAL
concern.
If the verdict out after a two-day emergency committee meeting starting
Wednesday is YES,... the committee will recommend that the director-general
of the WHO declare it as such.
The UN body would then implement temporary measures to keep the virus from
spreading internationally.
The health organization says more than 16-hundred people have been infected
in the current outbreak and that the number killed is nearing 900.
But there are fears that the actual death toll could be much higher than
the WHO figures suggest.
Voices among the world's leading Ebola specialists are calling on the World
Health Organization to make experimental drugs available to victims in West
Africa.
Two American citizens who were flown home after being infected with the
virus... are reportedly recovering after being administered with an
experimental drug called ZMapp.
