Good morning Majority Report listeners! On today's show Clyde Prestowitz (@clydeprestowitz) the President of the Economic Strategy Institute joins us to talk ...
Fun fact: 72 virgins that Ted Cruz is talking about is indeed a sunni
belief. Iran is shia. The freaking ayatollah is shia. Shias don't believe
in the f*ckin 72 virgins.
Jeez. These republicans are all 4 year olds when it comes to the middle
east.
+Edi Gosilbang I don't know... When it comes to their willingness to impulsively start bombing sh*t, I'd say their Middle East policy has all the hallmarks of coke heads. Maybe four-year old's on coke?
"TRUMP:
The TPP is horrible deal. It is a deal that is going to lead to nothing but
trouble. It’s a deal that was designed for China to come in, as they always
do, through the back door and totally take advantage of everyone."
quoting the transcript - somebody tell Rand to pay the attention next time
he tries to have his moment
Rand put on his homica and stuffed a note into the "wailing wall". I had hope ... I had none... Money says he's just another Obama,,, telling you what you want to hear and then do what he's told by wall St. and the crown. I can't leave out the Vatican ... can't ignore them ... they are every ones boss. Rand also wants you to work till you are 85 years old before you receive your maximum social security.
Trump, and to some extent Carson, are so ignorant of policy that it sickens
me to see them leading in the polls for the Republican nomination.
Wake the F$%^ up people, put these guys on the same stage as Hillary and
they are going to get slaughtered.
Rand Paul or Marco Rubio 2016!
+Matt Clark "The TPP is horrible deal. It is a deal that is going to lead to nothing but trouble. It’s a deal that was designed for China to come in, as they always do, through the back door and totally take advantage of everyone."Does he say China is a part of the TPP? No.It's settled. Trump was right. This is not ignorance. You can even find articles of them inviting China to join, or other articles discussing the way this helps China by acting as a trade buffer.
+Mark McElroy Nonsense they supp[ly all the raw materials to all the other states in Asia that has signed the TPPin effect they are guaranteed a spot whether they join or not.through the back door like Trump was trying to say before Rand Paul made a fool of himself again.
If Trump knew that China isn't part of the TPP, can someone please explain why he didn't just reply to with "I know China's not part of the deal, that's not what I said"? Instead he gave a look of shock and then speechlessly sulked, which for him is very uncharacteristic.
+Baba Yaga yes, China could join TPP if they wanted to. It's called "free trade", not protectionism, for a reason. However if they did join they would have to abide by the terms of the agreement, which means they would have to eliminate their very uncompetitive tariffs, respect IP law (so no more knockoffs, piracy or hacking), and end their preferential treatment of their state owned businesses, including their protectionist subsidies. They're working towards doing these things but they are nowhere close to ready to abide by the terms of the agreement. Inviting China in is a way for the US to thumb their nose at them and say "You're not worthy".
+KingAdrock420 Trump has openly over the last few months talks about how China was not directly part of the deal but there was a back door for them to enter by. And there is also the fact that China has eggs in this basket as well. All Paul done was Jump over some semantics and gained a one minute sound bite. Rand like his father has proved they are not cut out to be president under the current left wing society movement.
You didn't even read those links just reiterated your trash. China benefits, USA does not. IT doesn't matter if China was directly initially a part of the agreement, no mic drop for you or Rand.
+Baba Yaga "Mr. Trump never said China was part of the TPP. What he did say is that China will take advantage of that agreement"No, what Trump said is that the agreement is "designed" to benefit China. The only country that would directly design the agreement to help China is China, and they aren't doing so as they're not involved in designing the deal at all.
+Baba Yaga No, he's dead wrong. He said that the plan is "*designed* for China to come in and totally take advantage of everyone." That statement only makes sense if you're under the impression that China is directly involved with the deal. Note that in the follow up question to Rand they ask if China would benefit if the Senate does NOT ratify the deal and the treaty falls through. Rand agrees that yes they would, and hence China is opposed to the deal.
+KingAdrock420 Trump was right, China will take advantage of it. If you chuckleheads looked into a little deeper you would find that information. All you care about is that someone, anyone, stifle Trump so that you can hoop and holler and meme.
+KingAdrock420 And it was the way he said it, with that Kentucky drawl, as if it was so obvious that he almost didn't bother to say anything. It's so nice to have Rand back.
TPP & Our Incoherent China Policy (w/ Clyde Prestowitz)
Clyde Prestowitz the President of the President of the Economic Strategy Institute, explains the faulty thinking behind the TPP. Why America's China policy is ...
This guy is way off on China. For whatever reason he is protecting American
CEOs. Every American company you ever heard of manufactures in China.
Nobody twisted the corporation's arm. Fucking American workers was the only
reason corporations ran to China. Build in China then send it back tariff
free. The TPP lets the same CEOs manufacture in other low wage countries.
China's workforce wants a raise and that has American CEOs running. This
guy is fanning the flames for a fight.
Their is a good way around this. Go to everyone of these fucking companies
and ask them. "You an American company or Chinese company?" And if they
"say" they are American but have HQs in China we tax the fucking hell out
of them and don't consider them American companies.
Its has never been about trade, it's about privlages to corporations ans
Obama is in bed with them. This whole talk that TPP will open new markets
and all that stuff is absurd
What's behind China's exclusion from the TPP deal?
The TPP deal and China's exclusion from it have led to heated debates on social media in China. While some see it as an attempt to isolate China and hurt its ...
