+Denzel Perry Denzel, you can probably go at least 6000-10000 with full synthetic, depends how you drive it.If you take a lot of short trips, and shut the car off, so that the oil never gets fully hot, then you should stick with your current interval. But if you drive long enough to get the oil fully hot on most your trips, you can go much longer.I have a 6.0 liter GM work vehicle which has a built in "oil liife monitor", where the computer keeps track of all these things, like load, RPM, miles in town, stop and go, in lower gears, vs. highway miles in overdrive, temperatures, etc... and using it around town for work, the change oil light comes on always after 6000 miles, never less than that.GM is also assuming your'e using conventional oil. So I use full synthetic, and usually change it around 10,000, and it's still not very dirty, and the motor doesn't even use a quart in 10,000 miles, even if towing things.Hope this info helps you.
My friend bought a brand new 93 Ford Bronco, 351W, and from new changed the
oil every 21,000 miles but with Mobile 1 which is what they advertised for
it back then. He said it would be exactly one quart low at the 21k oil
change. He sold it with over 300,000 miles and still ZERO oil burning, no
leaks, no power loss, passed smog fine etc. He had no problems with it at
all.
+ZIPPER978 Exactly. Some fleets used toilet paper filters with convential oil, and never changed the oil at all, and had no problems what so ever. And that was with old conventional oil in the 70's.
4 5 and 7k oil change intervals were designed to wear out new high
tolerance engines prematurely. If maintained at the old 3k oil change
internal modern efi engines can easily hit 200k.
+Timetryp No full flow oil filter can remove particulate down to the micron needed. If it could the oil would not turn black. Particulate that small can only be removed with bypass filtration or changing your oil.

I'm using Lucas Engine Break-in Additive with ZDDP - about 6oz per oil
change. I made it to 100k miles last week, had the cam inspected by a local
PD TDI guru. It's no worse than when this video was taken. ;) I replaced
the timing belt and related bits. Onward to 200k miles!
God, they don't make cars like they used to. DMF,DPF,EGR VALVES AND CAM
SHAFT WEAR! I drive an 89 corolla 2l turbo diesel with 230,000 miles on the

The best engines ever made if u use de right oil. Done almost 400.000 KM
now , still runs like new ! In europe many cars have that engine or one
based on that : VW, Seat , Skoda , Audi . Where i live , 75 % of cars are
diesel .
When you change your timing belt does the valve cover come off too? I'm
just curious if you can do this inspection while your getting your timing
belt changed
She's hanging in there! I just pulled the VC again at 70k and it looks no
different. Total Quartz Ineo plus ZDDP additive seems to have stopped the
wear.
