State tints will be legal everywhere as of January 1, 2014.

+Dan Rex  In reference to SB 1524... That law changed in the sense of "home rule", a city or town can not enforce the law with more restricted guidelines to 625 ILCS 5/12-503(A-5).   Please understand window tints are not completely legal.  There are restrictions.

Hello Thomas,I have a question... I received a ticket on dec 22, 2013 in Chicago for having tinted windows. Now that SB 1524 passed Jan 1 2014... would this ticket get dropped in Court? Also... I have a friend who is a CPD officer and we were talking about this new change to the bill and he called Chicago Dept of Revenue regarding MCC 9-76-220 (a)/(b) ... he was told "The Illinois state law hasn't changed enforcement of window tints in the city of Chicago."  I do see on the Illinois General Assembly website that it has passed Jan 1st, 2014... but Chicago Dept of Revenue is telling us another story. Can you please clarify and can you please advise me on how to my tint ticket dropped? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much!Dan
