2002 Mercury Sable LS Startup and test drive
This is my 2002 Mercury Sable. This car is the LS trim model which has automatic climate controls, leather seats, AM/FM/Cassette(although I replaced the head ...
Did you do the radio install your self I plan on doin mine my self but they
say you can't do it if you have a digital climate I got the same car as you
I have the same exact car, except mines an LS Premium. First of all, its a
4 speed AT, not a 5 or 6. Second, the optional 6-CD changer is located in
the opening center console of the car, not in the trunk. Third, the largest
engine that Mercury fashioned for this car was a 201hp DOHC option, which
is what you have. Unless you have it chipped its not 240hp.
+Daniel Goss Mine is the 2003 and it does the same thing. I am guessing its normal cause at 55 mine at about 2000rpm. At about 70 its at 2500. My moms Jeep Compass does that too. So does my dads truck. Cause when I got it I wondered if that was normal. My dad drives it sometimes and he never says anything and he knows a lot about the engines.

Could you just use a pry bar to the end of the shock and pull up to
compress the strut to make room to remove the strut assembly? So you would
not need to take off the sway bar link and the bottom arm nut or loosen the
back arm nuts.
Thanks for the video. Would have liked to see the whole process. I am doing
this on my explorer and would have liked to see the difficulty level on the
re-install.
What are the torque specs? I would guess 35 ft/lb for the two larger ones
and 12 ft/lb for the smaller one for the stabilizer, but does any one know
for sure?
