Have not heard of any work being done on tracks,But they are still talking about getting it up and run and running,I want to ride it also,But their are two steam trains you can ride on Vancouver Island ,One is here in Duncan,and the other is in Port Alberni,Google BC Forestry Center and Port Alberni Steam Train, To get their web site and see where they are located and prices to ride,I have made video of both trains

VANCOUVER ISLAND!!!! One of my favorite places on earth I'd like to visit!!! Do you know of any news about restarting train passenger service? Is there any work being done for track renewal? I'll appreciate it if you could give me that info. Got very sad when I learnt about the Malahat services supression :( Greetings!

Thanks! I knew about these 2 trains, too. I fell in love with your Island precisely because of the Budd railcars that made the whole way from Victoria to Courtenay... and been dreaming of travelling in them ever since! Hope I can make it true!

I agree with you... In 1939, Mercury cars didn't have such low lines. Actually, the body shell belongs to the 1949-52 period. If it is a Monarch, it must be a Canadian built Merc, or a model for export.

I think it is Canadian built ,As I filmed the car in Duncan on Vancouver Island British Columbia Canada
