Fun fact. I grew up in Salinas and only moved away in 2009. I love John Steinbeck and am glad to have had the opportunity to grow up in that area. I wouldn't want to live there now, hence the moving, but it was a good experience. Especially for a book lover like me. The junior college in Salinas, where I attended, offered an English class solely on John Steinbeck. I'm so glad to have taken that class because I hadn't really read any of his books until then. Awesome video, Sam. I know you filmed it a while ago, but I just saw it and had to watch. :)

WROTH? WROTH? Ignorance in action.

Steinbeck betrayed his old comrades & supporters when he endorsed the Vietnam War. At the same time, he alienated a younger generation - full house. With Charlie Obanana, he put on a penguin suit & accepted the Nobel accolade of the ruling fat rats. 'Non-political' literati (including Melvyn Bragg) please note. You can sell your soul at any time, but the deal is irreversible & irrefutable.
