@chicopalomita - yes I have 4 videos. The first teaches how & what to mix
plus 8 patterns, the second teaches the tricks to making the star pattern,
the third teaches techniques used to make the butterfly pattern, and the
4th video "The secret to Advanced Tie Dye" teaches 5 patterns: guitar,
music note, turtle, yin yang, & phoenix bird. All can be ordered from my
website PhatDyes.com
6:14 you don't want the shirt to "dry" if you are using fiber reactive
dyes. You should put the shirt in a plastic bag and warm area 70F + for
12hrs or more. If the shirt dries the die will no longer continue to bond
to the cotton. Also I would rinse off the shirt with lots of water before
unfolding and putting into washing machine with synthrapol soap. Shirt
looks cool.
@SmileHunii - Thank you! I teach both the peace sign & the heart pattern
(plus others) in my original video you can download from my website. In it
I also teach about soda ash, and the other chemicals I use. You can order
dyes over the internet or buy a starter kit at like Wal-mart or Hobby
Lobby. You should grab one of my classes to really get a boost! Good Luck!
Hi could you help me please, everyone on these videos seems to use squeeze
bottles to dye their shirts but the kit I bought says to use a dye bath,
would I be able to use my dye bath mixtures in squeeze bottles and have the
same effect? Because My instructions tell me to leave my fabric soaking in
the dye bath for 15 - 30 minutes?
We have been doing Tie dye's following this pattern. They look great but
our problem is that when we wash them the colour fades to very pastel
colours. We have used Soda Ash and a fixative in the dyes which it calls
for. Why is this happening?
yes.... very simple. just don't make your banding too tight so you can get
more flow from the dye unless you want to reverse it (depending on your
wanting where the dyes are to set and if you're looking for more of a white
line cut)
what if I only wanted to use three colors for the 'v'.? i was thinking of
doing a black shirt with a rasta v... do i just do three big sections of
yellow red and green or multiple little sections like you do with rainbow?
@EatColorBlue - IMO this is best. By the time you wash in hot water the
chemical reaction should be complete. So you want all of the removable
pigments to be washed out so they don't get on your skin or other clothes.
you don't have to use soda water. i put salt in warm water, and a little
salt in each dye. it helps the shirt absorb the dye better. it looks like
the soda ash absorbs better though.
ohmygosh! the shirts are amazing! i really love the peece sign and heart
design, i want tu learn now! hmm but where could i get bottles of ink like
yours? and what is soda ash? :-/
@leviugga - Are you using procion & 100% cotton? I teach all this in my
first video plus 8 cool patterns, and in my fourth video plus 5 cool
patterns if you want to check it out.
Nice video as an intro. I'm looking to try to make or have made a tie dye
like Keanu Reaves sports in River's Edge. Anybody with that expertise,
feel free to PM me!
Will the shirt leave a mess, in the washer machine? Can you put more than
one in the washer machine? If you make more than one. Or will the paint mix
with the other?
thank you. m gong to try ths on a pair of jeans. have a customer who wants
the v on the crotch haha! Im gonna try it and i Hope it comes out nice.
great video.
My chem did tie dye yesterday and I did your V one, but I feel like I
messed up. I think it was because I had to use rubber band instead of the
string.
That's pretty fucking cool... and this is coming from a dude who would
never wear that in his life :P
How to Tie Dye a Peace Symbol Design [Tying Tutorial] #17
Here is a new Peace Sign Video(14/9/2015): https://youtu.be/AGF6-5LPRac Here is an updated fold for a peace sign design. I think folding the circle first is little ...
I thought the tutorial was actually pretty good. At least we learned how to
tie it into the design. Yeah it's unfortunate about the dying process but
I'm glad I watched this video because now I can practice tying shirts to
get that design.
I'll check out some more of your videos because this is the only one I've
seen so far, but it wasn't a horrible video. I found it kind of
informative. :)
+Debanhis Garcia I was disappointed when I realized what had happened. I will be making a new peace sign video in the near future. Sorry to have upset you...
I'm pretty sure if I put dye wherever I wanted to, it would not turn out
right. I think you need to give more in structure on color placement. Not
WHAT colors, but where?
+Karli Lopez If you put dye wherever you wanted, it would still turn out tie dye. I will be making another Peace Sign video in the near future, hopefully a full video. This one is a tying tutorial...
+Heliand M The tying of the peace sign is the difficult part, and the part that is always consistent. Dyeing it is a process per each peace sign. If you follow how I dye it, you will lose your individual style. And I have been thinking of changing the title to a "tying tutorial". I will also have some "dying tutorial"s coming out soon.

@sexiperuana you cant wash a homemade tye-dye shirt because it will rinse
out the colours, what he did was he rinsed all the colour that was still
there so all is left is the colour soaked into the shirt then you let it
dry outside on a line then iron out the wrinkles do not wash it in a washer
and do not dry it in a dryer
You are right. You are smart if you understand you need to eat right at

@magster3443 the dye won't fix into the fabric properly and will wash out
really quickly. or (depending on the fabric and how you do it) the colors
could run and you're shirt will look like poo.
dude this patterns are cool but they would look better with a drowing in it
you know maybe some chinese words made out with stencil and spray with
flourecent colors like blue or orange
okay after the guy rinses the shirt with the hoes do you have to dry it
first with the air or in the dryer first then iron it? or iron right after
rinse?...please help llol
I did this in a green dye and i turnd out to be blue lines with a green
