What made you go with a canister model over an upright one? Also, is the "Animal" version worth the extra $100 cost over the "Multi Floor" model? Does the multi floor model not pick up long hair? This is all so confusing!

+Little Miss Kate Thanks for the info! I went ahead and purchased this model based on your advice and video. Finally unboxed it tonight and tried it out. I'm very impressed other than for the emptying of the canister. Maybe I'm doing something wrong as it seems to result in a mess and more work than is necessary. Do you have a video on how to clean the cylinder and clear shroud that includes taking it apart and putting it back together? I wasn't paying attention and went well over the Max line which resulted in a bit of a mess. I had no idea that it would collect as much dust, etc. as quickly as it did.Also, do you have videos that explain and show how best to use each of the attachments? If it wasn't for your video I wouldn't even know what these attachments are called as the documentation is very sparse and for some reason Dyson's website has no support for this model.Thanks again for the advice and great video.

+brianxyz Thanks for the comment! I like now compact the canister is for storage purposes, but if you have space for the upright then it is a great option as well. As for the "Animal" part of this vacuum, it refers to the animal brush attachment that come with the vacuum. so you can brush your pet and vacuum away the hair right away. I don't have the multi floor model, but my guess would be that they would handle long hair the same

+ScarySinden I used it tonight on carpet and it picked up a ton of dust and dirt. It's like my old vacuum was only picking up about 10% of the dust that was actually there. In terms of suction power this machine is amazing.

+ScarySinden Sorry we can't help with that, I know there are many other video reviews out there on the vacuum. Our house is all hardwood and tile. A great vacuum choice for us!
