@danelting2 - Unfortunately, it didn't stay assembled long enough for a
full review. It's currently missing quite a few parts, though the inner
frame is mostly intact(it's destined for a stock pot, though).
@kenshinbattousai374 - I primed it with some herb and garlic compound
butter. applied a few layers of herb and spice wash, and then finished it
with a light top coat of grapeseed oil. :)
This KFC ad has been labelled as racist by Americans. I'm an Aussie and these are my view on the subject. An Australian has bought tickets to the cricket, but he ...
When I was in America, they were the most kindest & helpful people I have
ever met. The world puts a stereotype on Americans. However, the Americans
who were kind, polite & helpful were white Americans, they knew where
Australia was on a map & were very kind to me, even buying me drinks at the
bar. The African-Americans are loathed in America, I know this because I
have been to a ghetto & have seen why they are hated, especially when you
nearly get shot in the back for being in "their street".
wow smd you think rednecks count as americans? i don't know what your
curriculum requires of you kangaroos but i could probably point out more
countries on a map than you can. saying that the blacks in the ad are west
indian means nothing. did we say nationalism? no it's racist. blacks are
blacks. and the stereotype is that BLACK PEOPLE like fried chicken.
labeling black people in america as african american is racist too. there's
a good number from jamaica and the islands and they've been
its hard to take you seriously when you HAVE that time of day to reply to
EVERY single comment on this video. quiet pathetic really. as any american
would say, If you dont like the USA, im sure they're fundraisers out there
to buy plane tickets for those US citizen that hate their own country so
much to get the fuck out. only in the end once they finally realized the
truth and desperately cry out to the USA to come back...ROFL yeah, you're
clearly done, dont even bother to reply back.
I am an American, and while an ad like this would never fly in America, for
the reasons stated, I understand that it was aimed at an Australian
audience. Even though it was intended for Australians, Americans get to see
it too (and form opinions) thanks to Youtube. Even though I didn't "get it"
I"m sure the people that made the ad aren't stupid, and no offense was
intended. Yes, I can find Australia on a map. I don't give a rat's ass if
the rest of the world hates me. Have a nice day.
Ya know tho...its kinda retarded to say "all americans" do this or that do
"all austrailians" fuck kangaroos in rubber boots in the outback while
serenading their sister to help her get over the loss of the babe the dingo
stole? Im american and I found nothing racist in this. Kinda backward
thinking for you folks lol maybe it IS racist...lol and I was trying to see
a different side here..well you changed this yanks mind maybe hahah You
aussies are proof why cousins shouldnt marry ;)
@seltaebsad My research on the interent has shown many black people are
angry that the white American media is being offended for them. I have seen
many black comments on these news stories saying that they don't find it
racist. I have seen many comments from people from the West Indies saying
that they found the ad funny because it's an accurate depiction of sitting
in the wrong end of the stands and that when Aussies and the Indies do that
they quite often share food and drink.
in america way longer than a lot of white people who are probably called
"americans" by you aussies. and how typical is the behavior? are they
usually ALL drumming of some sort, 'dancing' on the stands. and in some
cases not watching the game. another thing. you just put a stereotype on
west indians then. because stereotypes arise from actually observations
made at one point or another. a black person in the states won't deny that
most black people love fried chicken.
I'm a Brit, not a cricket fan and just happened to have stumbled accross
this farce on Youtube. I'm also not a US hater(not all of them are ignorant
and even the ignorant ones are mainly allright to hang out with - I'm
relatively tolerant of ignorance) and think that the stuff GdayAus said was
a bit OTT! However the fact is that whoever thought that this ad was racist
knows less about cricket that I do! That this has become such a big deal is
an absolute joke!
There are different degrees of racism, it is not (for want of better words)
black and white but shades of grey. The people who decide whether this is
racist are the West Indies themselves. Con the fruiterer for example was a
character of an Anglo-Australian comedian that stereotyped
Greek-Australians. Greek-Australians loved it just like I and many other
White Aussies like the "Bruces" of Monty-Python fame. Americans need to
lighten up.
I'm West Indian with Indian ethnicity and now Aussie and there is nothing
wrong with this ad. If people are actually in stands with actual West
Indian people, THAT'S HOW WE ARE ALL THE TIME. Happy, Cheery people with
music and food ALWAYS! If people are taking offense to this you just do not
understand what is being shown. Good day. I'd like to know where in that ad
are Americans?
The American backlash over this ad had proven one thing and one thing only
- Americans are racists. The fact that they see their own pathetic
stereotypes in the West Indians and know nothing about other cultures (in
this case West Indian as well as cricket culture celebrated by many
non-American countries of many backgrounds), goes to show that Americans
are ignorant and racist.
I'm an Australian and I'm with you on the "Aussie Pride" crap. Seeing
Aussie Pride stickers on cars over here makes me thing of US cars with the
Confederate Flag. Usually the redneck/bogan cars wear 'em. I'm Australian,
I don't need no retarded sticker, I love the country I was born in and have
lived in for 50 years.. The last bit of this video... Hmmmm... Otherwise +5
@AustralianAreRacists I agree. You must be jealous. And incredibly stupid.
Haven't you heard? The droughts been over for nearly a year. Rivers are
forming in the Simpson Desert and they carry life. This country is thriving
beautifully. Too bad your own racist views can't see what you're missing.
You're a very narrow minded person. I pity you. I hope God does also.
it wasn't one person. I saw this ad in a number of american "news" programs
being hailed as racist. The fact is it's the Americans who are putting the
racism into the ad by seeing it as a white guy giving a "bucket of fried
chicken" to a bunch of "black people." As the video stated, not all "black
people" are african-american. And besides, who doesn't like KFC?
@AustralianAreRacists You only make my point all the more, thanks! Let
those who judge be judged!!....I'm actually glad you feel like this, at
least it means we as Australians never have to concern ourselves with
organisms like yourself coming to our shores. As for hell- with your
attitude it sounds like you live in it daily...enjoy!
I don't think you can do the kettle/black thing sorry. I don't wave the
Aussie flag, I don't own one. I don't have Aussie Pride stickers on my car
and I don't take pride in what I had no choice/input into. Like where I was
born. I wouldn't be calling you a redneck unless your car wears a
Confederate flag. Then I might well be;)
@AustralianAreRacists Hey, then why not move to America? Let's see if you
still have the same opinion then. Don't Americans eat beef? Are you saying
they eat dog food as well? I know what your problem is. You were denied
entry to this great country, weren't you? Now you're pissed off and having
a girlie boy hissy fit.
That is why We all Love Australia, All, Blacks, Whites, Asians, Indians,
Wogs etc... And every American that comes here loves it. BTW tomorrow is
AUSTRALIA DAY! the whole country celebrates. What does the USA have? .
Puerto Rican Parade, Black History Month? hmmm look can yourself first
before you judge.
I just heard this article on the news, and i did expect something slightly
racist, but OMFG seriously...this is the advert.....its not even slightly
racist....its a aussie fan sitting amongst the west indian
fans.....seriously america WTF are you doing labelling this racist....fukin
morons.
Setana1959, I am from South Carolina. I am proud of my Southern Heritage.
See my earlier post, I agreed that SOME Americans are overly sensitive and
wrong for impossing their racist accusations on Australia. You called me a
"redneck". I guess you're now the pot calling the kettle black?
@AustralianAreRacists They weren't all Australian numbnuts. But I wouldn't
expect you to know that. You haven't got one thing right about this country
yet. You're just another jealous little toerag that didn't pass the
requirements that would allow you in.
I always enjoy it when someone attempts to expose bigots, yet at the very
same moment show themselves to be the hateful bigots which they in fact
are, as they shout their bigoted statement loud and clear... Sadly, there
are too many fools like this author.
@AustralianAreRacists Answer the question. Can you not tell the difference
between the 2 flags? It is what it is. It's the design that was used when
my folks migrated here in 57. I had nothing to do with it lol. Ask the
person who designed it.
I have a 1872 FW Beers map of Lambertville NJ. ( Up by the railroad tracks)
It says Delaware Cricket Ground. Now its a baseball field. What is also
kind of interesting is that the older baseball fields tend to be by
railroad tracks.
Aussies probably wouldn't be offended. People eat kangaroo meat all the
time. I don't personally. It's cheaper than other meats. We are the only
country in the world that eats our national animal. It just shows how
laidback we are.
whatever, i made an aussie delete his video cuz i corrected him on that,
and we all know how insecure you Aussies can get when you get corrected by
"Americans" aka, people you feel like you are superior over. So no surprise
there.
@AustralianAreRacists Gotta love the uneducated and pity the cerebrally
challenged. You don't know the difference between the Australian and New
Zealand flags? Are you truly that stupid? LOL! That question is rhetorical.
