y8 automatic intake manifold on y7 head, new iacv, no vacuum leaks, coolant has been bled, y7 throttle body with tps and map sensors has been switched, dont ...
that is due to the iac valve located on your throttle body opposite of the
firewall, remove it (four bolts 5/16 or 8mm), once the iac valve is
removed, remove the magnet actuator at the end which has two phillips
driven screws. once you remove the magnet actuator you'll notice the valve
sticking out, turn it back and forth, it should turn freely, if it doesnt
spray carb' cleaner in the valve until the valve spins freely, make sure
valve is completey dry before putting it back. hope this helps
@DiAbOLiCPeNtaToNiC well was his 95 civic the exact same model as yours? if
yours was an automatic and his was a standard then it will not work. What
you want to do is clean the iacv with some carb cleaner rinse it out let it
dry and then reinstall. If surging persists then check all other probable
causes: vacuum leak, bleed coolant, etc. If it still persists and you have
done everything else, then it is your iacv. you will need a new one. That
is what was wrong with mine.
(d16z6 or d16y7 or whatever yours may be) as for the vacuum leak: if you
take the intake off and plug up the hole going into the iacv and if it
stops surging and idles normal then it is NOT a vacuum leak. i would
suggest getting a new iacv specific to your model. kragen sells them for
about 200$.
guys i have a question. my ph16 engine (local phil engine civic 96) has a
bad idling. my idle stays on 1500rpm with that weird sound and the smell of
the gasoline. i already bought a surplus RACV. but i think it broke up.
that's why i have a bad idling.
i fixed the problem months ago lol it was the iacv. i had realized that the
standard and automatic idle air control valves cannot be used
interchangeably. i just got a new iacv and bam it worked :D
my problem on this video was i got the wrong iacv. one was for standard
which cost a lot less compared to the automatic. once i got the iacv
specific to my model it did not surge anymore
