Great questions. This trip is two days. We drove from Boise to Idaho Falls,
then Idaho Falls through Yellowstone. The amount of time each stop takes
you is up to you, of course, as there are trails and such for exploring.
But if you're a dine-and-dash type, Shoshone Falls isn't that bad, as it is
relatively close to the freeway. Mesa Falls is a bit out of the way, but
nice. We left IDFalls early and were in Yellowstone before noon. I think.
It was a while ago. It was worth it to me. :)
Hello, great video! Some Questions. 1. Did you do the Shoshone Falls and
drive up to yellow stone and did all that in 1 day? or did you stay
somewhere in between? 2. How long should one allocate for Shoshone Falls 3.
How long should one allocate for the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway I am coming up
through Nevada and will try to drive through all the above and stay in
Island Park before driving into Yellowstones in the moring. Would like to
get a sense of timing. Thank you in advance.
Thanks! It was a "drive-thru" one-day trip through Yellowstone. I was beat
by the end of the day, because that's some pretty intense driving once you
get in the park. The beauty is overwhelming and easily distracts one on the
narrow two-lane highway. Must go back and spend some quality time there
some day. A drive-thru does no justice at all.
We made a lot of stops along the way in Yellowstone. We made it from
IDFalls thru Yellowstone and pushed thru to Butte before crashing for the
night. I pushed myself pretty hard that day, cramming in all we did. It WAS
a looooong day. As you can see, the sun was setting when we were just south
of Livingston at the end of the video.
+Mason Kelemen I would suggest at least a 5 wt. You will have more than enough room to cast but some of these cut throat are very strong. On the larger rivers a 5 to 6 wt. When fishing the smaller streams, a 3 or 4 wt would also work.
+david elliott My most memorable time fly fishing in my life. That's a long list, but Yellowstone is at the top.
