Why is Boyd not in the squad? Jozy is not the kind of forward to play alone. Gatt is the only true winger we have so although Jozy plays in a 4-3-3 in Holland, this squad is not equipped to provide for Jozy in a similar formation.

I won't be watching that Joke City game. I think Shea is overrated, but we'll see if he proves me wrong. I will check out the highlights to see if he even had a cameo. I thought that he was injured anyway.

It's been said before, I'll say it again: if MLS wants to grow, the Salary Cap needs to be adjusted ALOT. The fact that the top 7 earners make up nearly 25% of all salarys in the MLS is obsurd. Allow teams to spend more on the lesser players, therefore allowing the league to become more competitive with the lesser players.

MLS learned from the hundreds of failed sports leagues from the past 100 years: wild free spending by a few does not a good business model make. Also, what justification do you have to say MLS isn't growing? New TV deals, brining in USMNT stars, expansion, 100 million dollar expansion fees, and great attendance. I would say MLS is growing and growing well.

You act like the MLS wants to keep salaries down. The reason the cap is low is so the league can survive and not fold. If teams overspend it can ruin all the advances they made. The salary cap gives the league parity and it's slowly but surely rising. Some teams like kc are using their money and spreading it even, teams like Seattle and lag use all their money on expensive dps. To each their own

I suppose all mixed race men look alike to white people. That's what that says to me. I remember the wrong Arsenal player getting a red card last season against Chelsea in the Premier league.

Well, let's think of their most likely lineup (in Jurgen's 4-2-3-1) MLS- Rimando; Yedlin, Gonzalez, Besler, Parkhurst; Jones, Beckerman, Zusi, Bradley, Donovan; Dempsey Europe/Mexico- Howard; Chandler, Cameron, Brooks, F. Johnson; Torres, Kljestan; Bedoya, Diskerud, Corona; Boyd Yeah, no contest here. Absolutely no offense to the foreign players, especially major guys like Howard, Johnson, Cameron, or Bedoya, but MLS team has the core of the USMNT and are simply better.

you also got to look at the bench. they'd have players like gyasi and wondolowski and feilhaber on the sidelines so that would make it an easy win for mls

Hmm, I dunno about this. Yes there are many Americans playing abroad, but how good are they? Just because they play in Europe doesn't mean they are better, especially considering most of them play in either 2nd or 3rd division teams, or teams that aren't top-quality or top-of-the-table teams. Also, you are overlooking the many MLS based players that the USMNT could have as substitutes.

for Europe, solid bench Green, Gatt, Gyau, Shea, Rubio, Hyndman, Holmes, Gooch, Flores,  Morales, Greg Garza Cropper, Lichaj, Ream,for MLS, Beckerman, Donovan will not be a part of the USMNT going forward... this makes a weak USMNT mls-based.

I hate when analysts call positions by numbers. Like "he is a classic #10" It's stupid, and doesn't have a history in American soccer. the strict number-position rules are in Europe, not in the Americas.
