Gallipoli was a cock up. France failed as well, they charged German machine gun lines with bright red and blue uniforms on horse back. The Germans didn't have a perfect record either, they lost the war because they wasted all of their resources on huge gambles, none of which paid off. U.S. officers were absolutely useless at many points in the war and the confusion from one infantry division nearly cost the British an entire battle. And don't even get me started on the Russians, the failure of Russian commanding officers essentially started a bloody revolution. Do you know where the British commanding officers got its Empire? The victory of WWI. Care to tell me about the Second Battle of the Somme and Britain's gallant officers?
Wow!!! What a marvelous depiction of the truly horrendous treatment
soldiers received in The Great War. It's no surprise that the Brits had
such animosity towards Scots and the Irish. If they could have back in
1915-20 the British government probably would like to have had all Irishman
and Scots executed or genocided in any way possible. We are such cruel
creatures, I don't truly believe that we even can comprehend just how evil
humans can be especially when we are placed in the theatre of war. And, to
think much of the same PTSD and horrible graphic and heartbeaking
experiences depicted in this film are still happening to people all across
this world every day to this very day. If this video teaches us anything
it's that we must have empathy for others, and we must always be wary of
the "privileged" individuals getting preferential treatment over the common
grunt. Equality for all, not just the rich and well-to-do.
10/10 for not answering my reply, except saying that you have a bachelors (big whoop). With that bachelors you have now joined millions of other individuals. Do you deserve some kind of award? No. And it doesn't change the fact that your history is flawed and that you're daft, stupid, dumb, an imbecile, fucktard.... take your pick :) Good day!
+Cory Mcclure You don't know who you're talking to and yet you say I know no history. Given my relevant bachelors degree, I'll give you 10/10 for making yourself look like a fool
+Henry Simon If you are so smart then explain the IRA and Ireland's brutal fight for fair representation in this "equal" Britain. I know exactly where you are from and that you are a Brit who wishes to ignore the many many years of strife and hatred that scots and Irish felt towards the their English neighbors. If you think Irish and scots weren't and still are often today treated less than brits, you definitely do not know anything of the past hundred years of that areas history. Also read my comment. I said "if they could genocide" This is merely implying the dislike of Irish and scots and by the English, not saying it would happen or could have happened. They would, "like to have had it happen". There's a huge difference. Here's some reading in case you forgot that Ireland had a huge problem with its English rule and lack of true independence: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_Republican_Army. You sir do not know any history once so ever and are daft as fuck.
+Cory Mcclure The Scottish ARE British... I don't want to make presumptions as to where you are from, though I have my suspicions, but seriously, you should at least learn a little bit of geography first. Britain = the Island. Therefore, Welshmen, Englishmen and Scotsmen are all British. Furthermore, your idea that the government would have had all Scotsmen or Irishmen executed is utter fantasy. The Scots and men of Northern Ireland were not second class citizens....
+Cory Mcclure The Indian government was in charge of all British forces on their front in WWI and they only died because of lack of resources and reinforcements from the Indian government. And there was a Scottish rebellion after Great Britain unified but only half of Scotland revolted against the Empire, the half fought for it.
They killed many Irish and Scots when they revolted as Ireland and Scotland fought for freedom over the past couple hundred years. The Brits either wanted complete servitude to their empire or they would kill you. How do you not know that history? It was the case in Africa, India, parts of Indonesia. The British also heavily relied on Indian soldiers in WW! who they saw as "fit soldiers", and they were also basically slaves. You need to look at the history more closely. Britain had no acceptance for disobedience to their empire in any colony they owned or for disobedience from their neighbors in Scotland and Ireland. If you did not fight for them, you were executed. Hell, do you not know what the apartheid is?
Are you joking? Ireland and Scotland were both a part of the UK just as England was. If the empire wanted to kill the Irish, they would have done so when they revolted instead of granting them dominion over themselves. They saw them as fit soldiers, not subjects to genocide.
